We are going nowhere this transfer window, maybe even backwards, Cole has snubbed us and now apparently we are going for Bellamy, and Stipe Pletikosa, the latter Harry has confirmed that we might get him, great! We have 2 senior keepers on the bench now, short term this move may have made sense when Cuidicini was injured, now it is totally unnecessary, if we have to sign a keeper it should be a young player with potential, to replace Alnwick, who would move on.
Harry put all his eggs in the basket of Joe Cole, and admitted not even discussing any other transfer targets, seriously WTF, now Cole saga is finally over the team needs strengthening, with 3 top quality players, one striker, one centre back, and a creative midfielder that can score goals, we have Modders, who has the creativity, but need someone who can regularly  get on the scoresheet, we have no balls in the transfer market,
Eventually we are going to need to break our wage structure, for a top quality signing, Cole wasn't that signing mostly due to his age, or they ultimately will sign for someone else, and we miss out on yet another.
Suarez and Huntelaar are both reportedly available our attention should be on these guys and getting CB cover, first two priorities, and for f sake, get out the cheque book, attract a big name player, big name players don’t come without big money, or atleast bid for these players, if we can’t do a deal move on, but we must exhaust these possibilities until we have a result, and Bellamy and Pletikosa are not results, these options are like when you need a top sports car and you end up buying a trabi because it was dirt cheap.

I'm not sure things are as desperate as you seem to think. The transfer window has been pretty quite up to now no real huge moves have gone through. Most of the major players are still on holiday after the world cup. The Joe Cole thing has focused all our attention and although it seems we have lost out there may well be more to it, I've heard rumours we pulled out, along with Ars*nal, over excessive wage demands. Not getting Cole is not the end of the world wide left and attacking midfield are areas we are well covered in. Harrys no mug and Mr Levy has shown in the past his willingness to spend,he just wont be held to ransome. They both know that the CL is going to be a challenge for the current squad and I'm certain are working hard to improve it. These things take time have a little faith.
Mind you if no major signings have been made in a month from now I will be posting something a lot more pessemistic.

I have no idea what a DDOS attack is but it sounds a bit like a girl with large breasts attacking us? Is there any video of the attack as i would like to watch that one day?

Bar City, which teams have signed a big name for big money in the premiership?

Know one is the answer!

Sucess doesn't happen over night Dom is takes time, we aren't just guna magically sign 3 worldclass players just like that. If you feel we have missed out on the likes of Cole, Dzenko, Huntalaar etc that's fair enough. I'd far rather us see us maybe sign a player for half their free's who has Prem experiance.

I trust Harry and the board to be doing all they can to get players in, but smashing our strict wage budget would surly undo everything that's right about how the club is run

I am trying not to panic, it is a culmination of missing out on big players past windows such as Huntelaar, there is always hope but when Harry admits he hasn't even discussed any other targets that isn't a good sign. Why wait try and do our deals now so they have more time to gel, and get some pre-season games to settle in, and transfers might not happen overnight but close to a couple of days.

There are several good players reportedly available, including Suarez, Huntelaar, Ozil, Gourcuff, Sessegnon, and the early bird gets the worm, we need to snap them up before the other big EPL clubs move in, most big names would choose, Man U, Ars*nal, Chelsea, City, even Pool above us because they are bigger clubs historically and traditionally, lets not forget cpl years ago Pool won the CL, most big names firstly want a team that has had success in CL, bags of money, and a title contending team, so we are facing an uphill battle there.
With CL although this is out best chance of getting those marquee players, and to move forward as a club.

I was using Cole as an example of our failure in the market in general, I am not overly upset that we didn't get him if we get younger better players, such as Mesut Ozil, Yoan Gourcuff, but we we have difficulty attracting any big names, if we don't strengthen, if we make it past the group stage, I doubt we can compete in CL group stages, and in EPL last seasons effort was phenomenal we have a tough task ahead if we are going to repeat it, I really hope we can, lets face it Liverpool and Man City both underachieved, they both have better squads than us, but we played better last season as a team.

True not everyone has strengthened, Chelsea Chelsea have brought in Benayoun nothing huge there, but both them and Man U don't need to do anything, they will be up there again,  below them City has captured David Silva, and several others in the pipeline, Dzeko, Bolotelli, Pool got Joe Cole and Milan Jovanovic  who hasn't done much of late, Ars*nal strengthened their defence with Koscielny, and are trying to line up a new keeper.

Redknapp eyes new signings
Spurs manager keen to strengthen squad

Is the headline on sky sports, and at shows Harry's is a burning desire and ambition to take the club higher, and capitalise on the opportunity we have, and put our best foot forward by adding 2 or 3 quality new players, at least now the intent has now been signalled, before I was beginning to wonder after Harry's comments not even considering transfer options other than Cole, maybe that was purely a message to Joe that Harry is only thinking about him because he is the only one for Harry, he tried hard that all we can do, and Levy does all actual negotiations,  hopefully now we can bring someone younger and better in, the only players of Cole's age that I would break the wage structure for would be Fabiano or Forlan.

We have got to realise that top players are few and far between plus to be fair how much better is Joe Cole than Luka Modric ... I would argue that there is very little between them. Yes it would of been fantastic to sign Cole but it is not the end of the world that we haven't, plus why should we just buy for the sake of it like Man City. We have a better than average squad that is more than capable of continuing onwards and upwards from last season so why disrupt it just for the sake of it. I agree we would probably need a CB but only if he is equally as good as what we have or better not an easy task as we had one of the best defensive records in the Prem last year, and another Goalkeeper as Cudicini will not be as good as before after his accident.
If we sign anyone I would rather we get the right quality player(s) rather than anyone that's available just for the sake of it. If you want to understand how a squad works look at Man Ure under Fergie for the last 15 years they have signed 1 or 2 quality players a season to keep things fresh but also happy it's about patience and belief
'Arry will do what's right for the team and Mr Levy will back him all the way so just relax and have patience and if we don't sign anyone have faith in the squad they are good enough and this season will prove it !!!!

People have their reservations they are scared of adding to a successful side, I never talked about wholesale changes, we have the chance of taking the club forward leaps and bounds, but not without  some ambition, no one listened to me but now they will listen to Harry, as he is now saying the exact same thing.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp urges club to open their wallets or risk missing a "massive opportunity"Spurs boss hopes to build on fourth place finish this season

ARTICLE COPIED BELOW AND ARTICLE LINK AT BOTTOM

Harry Redknapp has urged the Tottenham Hotspur board not to waste a golden opportunity for the club and approve moves for players that will help Spurs become one of the Premier League's elite.
The expectations for Tottenham have been risen by their Champions League qualification last season, and Redknapp is hoping that the club will open up their wallets to improve his squad.
Redknapp has been given a reported £40 million to acquire new players, but chairman Daniel Levy has insisted that the club will not overstep their pay structure.

The Tottenham boss believes that the club must keep improving their team or risk missing out on an opportunity to remain a top four club in the Premier League.“I think we need to bring in three real quality players that can push us on,” Redknapp told The Mirror.“This is a chance that Tottenham really shouldn’t waste. We have got ourselves into our best position since the Premier League first started, and we have to build on that.“We now have to move forward and not take a step back and sit and look at what we’ve done.“This is a massive opportunity and we have got to grab it, to make sure we stay where we are.“I’m not saying that we necessarily need to spend fortunes, but we have to go and get two or three players who will make the difference to us.

“I have got three players in mind and if I can get these players we would be a different team.”The targets for Redknapp include Brazil striker Luis Fabiano, Real Madrid legend Raul, AC Milan’s Klass-Jan Huntelaar and Manchester City winger Craig Bellamy, but the Spurs manager knows that Tottenham cannot compete with the money the other big Premier League clubs have to spend. “I like Fabiano. He is a top player. If he was available at the right money then I would be interested in him, but whether that would be the right money for Tottenham Hotspur I don’t know.

To be fair 'Arry has been saying this since the last game of last season and he is totally correct that it is a massive opportunity but the players have to be of a certain quality and "fit" into the squad. Scared is a very strong word to use cautious would be better as it is important to get the balance right, one wrong signing could set us back too, but I am happy to go with 'Arry and his judgement so far he has done nothing wrong in the transfer market.

I am eagerly waiting for our first signing, personally I would like to see Maicon, Messi and Fabiano..... dreaming yes...... maybe Fabiano would come but if its Bellamy, Richards and Young I would be happy at the moment. Both set of 3 players improve the squad and give us better options we need to build but not at any cost, especially if we are buying just because the player is available.

Mind you our first signing = Sandro. Although i would be glad if we could see someone replace Keano upfront. I really have my doubts on him.

not that fussed about getting in a bigname...... someone mentioned Ozil as a bigname, but I bet 3 months ago he probably would have struggled to name the club he played for.... shows how the WC can hype players outta sight sometimes (but not necessarily with Ozil, as he has been v.good in the Bundesliga for 1-2yrs without attracting much lager-lout fans in that period)..

we need a striker with pace and power who can play with either Defoe or Pav.... 1 of C.Cole, Huntelaar, Loic Remy will be here by 1st September.... I think Huntelaar in p/x for Dos Santos

we need a pacy backup for Lennon when hes injured/rested.... if not Bellamy, then we will get Djalo from Sporting Lisbon (who is actually better than Lennon but less well-known by the experts of Prem Lge )..

we need another experienced and pacy CB.... probably gonna be C.Davies in p/x for Keano or Bentley (who will not be happy to be understudy to Lennon for another season)..

backup GK will be the least of our problems... can be sorted within 48hrs at around 2m max.

its actually 1 of the easier Transfer-Windows for Spurs for a change... compared to the usual shenanigans of the last 2-3yrs..

so relax.
