Dimitar Berbatov and Robbie Keane have been jointly named Barclays Player of the Month for April. The strike duo enjoyed a highly-productive month with eight goals from five league games, which has seen both take their goal tallies to 21 in all competitions. It is the fifth time the player of the month award has been tied, with potent strike forces such as Alan Shearer and Chris Sutton, as well as Robbie Fowler and Stan Collymore, having also previously shared the monthly honour.Berba’s first player of the month gong comes off the back of being named in the PFA Team of the Season last week, while this is the third time Robbie has picked up the honour, having previously won while at Leeds United in January 2001 and during his time at Coventry City in August 1999.Only Alan Shearer, Dennis Bergkamp, Thierry Henry and Steven Gerrard have collected the accolade on four occasions.
