Age of 84, Peter Baker joined Spurs from Enfield as an amateur in 1949 and went on to give 16 years of service to our club.
Baker was part of a full back pairing, with Ron Henry, long side Maurice Norman in Bill Nick's great team of the early 1960s. Peter, Ron and Maurice, between them, missed just two matches of 49 in their glories campaign.
Peter also went on to help Spurs retain the FA Cup, finish third in the league. He also reached the semi-finals of the European Cup the following season. Baker and the others became the first British team to win a European trophy with the 5-1 win over Atletico Madrid in the Cup Winners Cup Final in 1963.
