Take note sick note: a biography of Darren Andertson
« on: February 01, 2013, 04:42:25 PM »
I’ve just finished reading Darren Anderton’s autobiography called “Take note!” It tells you about his time when he was with his first club Portsmouth, then onto Spurs. He also reminisces over his time playing for England and the managers that took charge. While at Spurs he was known as “sick note” (the title of his book is a play on that) because of the times he missed matches because of injury. He does say that one of the causes of his long injuries was because he was given bad advice by certain managers; like it is “all in the head” etc. A very interesting read.
I’ve lived a life that’s full. I’ve travelled each and every highway;
And more, much more than this,
I did it my way.

Regrets, I’ve had a few;
But then again, too few to mention.
I did what I had to do
And saw it through without exemption.

When fit he was a great player for us and England. Too bad he was rarely fit.

I remember a time when Manu Utd were looking at him and willing to pay a fee around 10 mill, but I cant remember if he/us rejected or he got injured.

A very good player but more fragile than michael owen
THFC "COYS" and that is all I have to say about that!

He does say that Alex Ferguson wanted him, but he rejected the move.

I remember it on Ceefax, 10 mill was offered which was alot back then I think it was shortly after an international comp.

If he had stayed fit I have no doubt that he would have been in the same class as Hoddle in THFC history

Sorry but absolutely not . Hoddle was the KING of white hart lane .Even on his best days , of which there were sadly few , he was nowhere near as good as hod .A good player but in my opinion one of the biggest dissapointments in a spurs shirt .
If your not spurs you`re dead to me
