My top four football books in reverse order are,
4. "The Way it Was" by Stanley Matthews.
3. "Fever Pitch " Yeah I know, wrong team
2. "The Glory Game" by Hunter Davies Far and away the best book ever written in Spurs. And as the 70's team were my boyhood team this book is one of my treasured possessions.
1. The Miracle of Castel di Sangro" by Joe Mc Ginniss. If anyone hasn't read this, do yourself a favour and track down a copy
I was a little disappointed in "In Search of Alan Giltzen". Starts well but then fades partly because he never really found him
Currently enjoying "Vertigo". Has anyone bought "Glory Glory Nights"? is it worth it?
Worst football book I have ever read would have to be the Garty Linekar bio "Strikingly Different"
