Do we need to buy in January?

I was listening to AVB speak and he said his squad was strong enough and we’ve got players coming back from injury so we don’t really need to buy in January. Granted we’ve had problems in defence, but as MoTD said; If we wouldn’t have lost in the last 10 minutes – when leading – we would be at the top of the league. This tells me that the squad is strong enough but we have to sort out our defence. But that has a lot to do with injuries and nothing that can’t be sorted out (with what we've got). So I wouldn’t be too upset if he didn’t buy. However, it all depends on our last day’s league position if that was the right decision.

I think that we need more than 2 senior strikers. It's not inconceivable for Defoe and Adebayor to both get injured.

Edit: I suppose there's Dempsey as well, but I've only ever seen him play as an attacking MF or winger.

There is a chance that Adebayor will go to African Cup of Nations and that would leave us awfully short up front and young Kane is not ready to carry the team yet. So, at least one, preferably two top strikers must be brought in. We also need a left defender to cover for Assou-Ekotto (who fortunately won't be going to Cup of Nations as Cameroon missed out).

Then no one would stop us.
I am not convinced with Ade though and would like cover there.

We definitely need a PLAYMAKER, simply because we don't have one, a left sided defender, and another quality striker, in my opinion there is nothing wrong with having quality in depth, it creates competition for positions and that is healthy as far as I am concerned, plus it shows all of the other clubs that we need to be taken seriously.

Spot on. Thats exactly what we need, especially the striker and creative midfielder.

I disagree, and luckily for Spurs you are in the minority.

Personally I think we should be judging at the end of the season.
