Thank god AVB has named his number 2 and it's that well known manager/coach and our ex midfield general................. Stefan Freund !!!!!!

Unbelievable our assistant manager is even less experienced than our manager, 3 years as German under 16 manager ......... what the f**k is going on is this all being done for a big joke or what ?

Dictator Dan is going to come out the day before the season starts and tell us all he 'aving a laugh and 'Arry's still in charge and he's been pulling our leg.... right !!!!

This just gets worse, God help us

I was a bit puzzled by this. I was thinking for sure we'd be bringing in someone with lots of experience.

It seems to me that there is a certain section of our supporters who are going to criticise every move that is made from now on. We still have the nucleus of a decent squad. The only major departure is looking like Modric, who was always going to leave this summer, whoever the manager. But we are linked with Moutinho, an adequate replacement. We've got a CB and another midfielder. We look like getting Adebayor, and possibly Lloris. One more top striker and we're done.
For me its so far so good until I see otherwise. COYS

It's all well and good having the squad but you need to be able get them to play together with decent tactics and organise them on the pitch !!!! I think we are doing well with our signings so far and we have them early I just wonder why we haven't done it before !!!

It'll be like giving a 10 year old a Ferrari to tune !!!!

UGS i do hear you and see entirely why you are so concerned but......

I am with RSS on this one. Football has always worked this way, nobody can ever tell how things will work out just think of how many managers have been in posts where they are meant to be 'the second coming' and they turn out garbage.

Then you get the strange ones that just work for some reason, not saying i am totally convinced but in truth none of us know how it is going to work out. (except of course certain posters who will stay negative until it actually happens)

I look at the picture of Sigurdsson, AVB and Verthonghen together, and just feel they look right for us. When did we last start pre-season with 2 new and exciting players like them in place.  Is nobody else with me on this one ?

The debate about AVB will go on and on until the season starts, then if Tottenham lose their first game the media will have a field day in fact most of us could write the script now!!

My view is I was sorry to see Harry go and he did put the team back on track but I wonder how much further he could have taken the team, guess we will never know now

AVB right or wrong choice? its done and any real Spurs supporter will just get behind the team and roll with it cos that's what we do!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, but have you seen who he has picked as his first team coach ?

AVB has intentionally chosen people who know even less than he does, so he can't be undermined. This is not a joke. Most of my adult life I spent  in senior management, and spent many many hours coaching less senior managers.  One of the traits an in experienced manager has (regardless of industry)  is to recruit people that know less than themselves. A top man recruits someone who knows more than himself, and then manages them well.

Freund seems to be quite highly rated - he's been given quite a bit of responsibility by the German FA and they don't do that with just anyone.

Mr Wiggins has a way to go yet to get to Mr Armstrong's level... but I have been mightly impressed with atitude and ability this year and hopefully barring any unforseen circumstances will become the first englishman to win the Tour !!!!
