We always miss Aaron when he dosen't play, as apart from Kyle Walker, we don't have a right sided player with pace, and seem to end up shoving VDV or worse still Luca out of position to fill the gap. A young right winger is needed as back up to Lennon.

This could be a chance for Giovani dos Santos to prove his worth but as we know, Redknapp will not play him.  :santa_sad:

Anyone else think Kyle Walker will end up playing right wing with Kyle Naughton slotting at at RB or a new RB coming in.

Why not put Walker at RW while Lennon is out, we have Corluka that can cover at RB.
THFC "COYS" and that is all I have to say about that!

Yep, mentioned in my post about striker. Sounds like a better plan than playing modric out of his comfort zone. Yes he has the quality to do a job there, but Walker's pace can be put to good use, plus he can track back quickly and help slowluka out.
Maybe next year...

It's obvious that Arry needs to push Walker forward, but he won't do it.

A good call regards Walker. Bale started at left back, look at him now !!

Walker is a far better defender than Bale, pushing him forward means we would lose a very effective Right / WIng back.

'Arry seems to have adopted a 4-3-3 system now without Lennon allowing Van der Vaart and Bale to have a free role and Adebayor as the focal point. I don't think Bale was ever a Left Back as such anyway as he spent most of his time attacking anyway !!!

I agree with ugs, Walker is already a far superior defender to what Bale offered. Yes, he can do a job getting forward, but that's not the best part of his game, it always was for Bale. I agree that GDS would seem like the likeliest replacement for Lennon, but remember that he's a naturally left-footed player who loves to dribble and cut in (like a homeless man's Arjen Robben). With the purchase of Falque, we seem to be collecting middle of the park playmakers (Modric, VDV, Krancjar, Huddlestone).

For my money, I'd try to move on Pienaar and GDS and reinvest the money in a fast, touchline hugging winger in the mold of Bale/Lennon. These players are not easy to come by, and everyone please remember where we were 2 years ago, when Lennon couldn't hit the broadside of a barn with a cross, and Bale was a LB who hadn't won a Prem game and couldn't get in the team. They've both made immense strides in their technical ability, as well as their understanding of space/how to attack.
"The public can't be kidded. They know what they want to see, what is good and what is bad and what is just average. At least I believe they do."
