King is injured again
« on: January 09, 2012, 08:23:48 AM »
Ledley King tore a hamstring on Friday and will be absent for about eight weeks (in Spurs' case at least three months). Looks like there will be some new central defenders coming to the club in January.

Dawson has had a timely return then. !!!!

I can accept that King will get injured. He doesn't even train properly for goodness sake. The important thing is that when he is able to play, he is still up there with the best defenders. What we must have though is adequate and quality cover, cover so good that even when King is fit, he isn't just an automatic replacement but has to fight to get back into the team. Unfortunately, we are not quite there yet. Granted, Kaboul and Dawson are good players and either one can do a job, but neither would keep King out of the side, push comes to shove.

Maybe next year...

Blackburn Rovers defender Christopher Samba, who has been the subject of recent transfer speculation, has told L'Equipe that he wants to quit the Ewood Park club, saying "It's time for a change." He added: "I tried to maintain my level of performance but I sense that it is time for a change. The club doesn't evolve at all. I'm resigned."
