This is most likely nonsense. But what would you think if it turned out to be true ? For me there is to much bad feeling for him to come back. But at £8 million would be a bargain if he can get us the goals and I think he would thrive on the service we would provide.

Think it is nonsense and maybe he has burned his bridges. There is no doubting his sheer genius. what a player. Fergie is crazy to offload his top scorer and keep patience with the Neanderthal scum that is rooney.

After the bang out of order way he treated our club, disrespected us fans and caused s**t for big MJ, Berbatoss should never ever have the honour of pulling on our team colours on again unless he buys a shirt from ebay!

If there is anything in this story, Defoe will be going for sure, but I doubt it!

I know he didn't exactly leave in the nicest way, but I'd gladly have him back.

Of the far-fetched striker stories I'm still hoping there's something to the Drogba one though!

Everyone is bemoaning the fact that we haven't signed a top striker.... well there's your answer with Bale, Lennon, Modric, Huddlestone, van der Vaart and Berba we score goals for fun, his record speaks for itself.

Just dont know why he turned on us...........we still have players he refused to speak to at training and in the dressing room - not sure it would work out, even though he must miss the plaudits he got when he was with us

If Berbatov is happy with playing a part time role then he should sign another contract but if he wants first team football he should leave, and personally I want him to go, Rooney and Hernandez partnership is amazing
