then we also have THudd (ex-CB) and Corluka too (tho on a par with Dawson)..

Neither Hudd or Corluka are "on a par" with Dawson at CB.

Hudd and Corluka are makeshift CB in absense of our CB's but neither are great there. Ok Corluka often plays there for Croatia and Hudd was a CB a long time ago. Dawson has better positional sense than those two and is probably (a little bit) more mobile than Corluka and Hudd.

Dawson is a valued defender at Tottenham and has really improved over the last couple of seasons. In my opinion i would play him ahead of Bassong and Kaboul, and along side Gallas in Kings absense.
Bassong is a great back-up for King, Gallas and Dawson and Kaboul is the utility man for the back 4.

Dawson isnt fit to lace Kaboul's boots.... as for his 'great positional sense' is that why he has to resort to SO MANY last-ditch tackles to win the ball, when others anticipate events before they even get to the 'last ditch' stage...

Dawson is mediocre for a Top4 team.... bench player even if that..... Dawson is tailor-made for even the average forward to play against, as there are SO MANY  WAYS to beat him in and around the box...

Dawson tho is loved by the masses BECAUSE of his last-ditch maneuvers, as most think that its a mark of a great defender... in fact, its the OPPOSITE.

Thank God for the England game earlier... and they say friendly intl.s are a waste of time.

Ok Michael Dawson isn't the greatest centre back in the world but he gives his all for Tottenham and will never let you down , maybe he isn't the quickest, but he won't let you down, sometimes he gets it wrong but he will do everything to put it right...

You don't play for your country if you are not good enough and plenty of pundits were calling for Dawson and King to start for England in the summer. You don't captain your side if your not good enough, when was the last time Kaboul captained Tottenham ?

AND YOU DON'T CELEBRATE OR SAY IT'S A GOOD THING WHEN ONE OF YOUR PLAYERS GETS INJURED REGARDLESS OF WHO IT IS !!!!

GARETH YOU ARE A TOSSER AND THE SOONER YOU ARE BOOTED FROM OR LEAVE THIS SITE THE BETTER !!!

:tickedoff:   (_o_) < this is you an arsehole !!!!

Dawson does give his all.... all quantity but little QUALITY..

as for never letting Spurs down, have you been blind and deaf the last 5 seasons ??..... he has made more major errors than any CB I can think of at any club for the past 5yrs at least....

thanks for the grunt work, but reallly we have now moved on.... get Kaboul/Gallas for rightside CB, King/Bassong for leftside CB.... and get THudd (and even Kyle Walker... and even EVEN Sandro to be reserve CB)...

we really do need to stop playing Dawson.. as for cheering an injured player, it was more relief than cheering.... and Dawson will have more time to watch some videos of defenders like Nesta, Ferdinand and Lucio...

Thats bull and you know it. Why was he voted fans player of the year the last season?

Yes, i know. Because he makes all these errors and isn't worth the clubs Cpt's arm band or England call ups.

Dawson is a good defender who tries his heart out in every performance. He may not be the most gifted CB in the world, but he's a grafter and never gives up. He's vocal, great in the air and good tackler due to his great timing.

lol... he's vocal ??... well get him on X-Factor then..

he's a bumbling over-rated plank that has been dire for most of his Spurs career... the fact hat he showed improvement from a VERY LOW BASE....and dont try to hide from it, I remember what he was like for years before last season.... has touched the simple hearts of the Spurs supporters who see him as 1 of the 'geezers' they so clearly relate to the most...

he may very well play, cos Arry likes to keep the faithful on side.... so lets get the excuses ready already shall we... I'll start it off..

HE'S ALRIGHT WITH THE RIGHT PARTNER NEXT TO HIM, honest guv...... the classic Dawsonism... 8D

I think dawson is pretty crap myself. squad player at best. Ok he is better than corluka and hudd at cb but then i probably am too. I know im a hell of a lot quicker, in fact id hazard a guess that my 2 year old daughter is quicker. If gallas, king, bassong, kaboul and dare i say it woodgate were all fit. Dawson would be a permanent fixture on the sidelines.

good strikers realistically available in Jan.'11, that gives us what we NEED :-

Cavani - even last season and at WC I thought he would be a great addition to Spurs... great allrounder, unselfish, good pace, 6ft+, good technique, can score as well as assist..... this season he's gone into overdrive at Napoli and is proving to be very potent goalscorer too now..... but wanted to stay in Italy and joined Napoli from Palermo.... should tempt him with CL/EL/London/wages..... avail at around 16m pounds ??

Cameron Jerome - boy has everything a centre-forward needs.... if he played for a Top4 team that attacked he'd get 20+ goals a season and as many assists... great pace/power, deceptively good 1st-touch, can score goals in away games, on the counter, against big clubs.... even playing for a very negative, defensive team like Birmingham....this season's Gareth Bale if anyone's got the brains to get him now... 12m ??

Fabiano - still available... not get getting games at Seville.... proven world-class.... just needs Levy to bite the bullet and go for it... should guarantee Spurs Top5 finish every season (great chance of Top4)..... 22m ?

we have selling options too, to make the finances work.....

Yes because he's been phenonminal already  :2funny:

And with all his qualities you harp on about, how come a top 4 side hasn't come in for him?

Maybe they dont have the brains after all......

Or more realistically, Jerome isn't quite as good as you think Gareth!

my comments were meant for the higher intellects that occasionally frequent this board.... not to the riff-raff..

I'm sure in your great insightfulness you were dying for Arry this time last year, to play Bale not only in the team but at LM too.....

try to refrain from replying to my posts in future... stick to your own level of engagement
