Scott Parker
« on: August 22, 2010, 12:56:07 AM »
I was at work tonight and as it is saturday I listen to most of the football chat on 5Live and TalkSport, anyway listening to the Sportsbar on TalkSport and they have regular Journo's that come on and chat.

Tonight the main football writer for the News of the World (I think although didn't quite catch that bit) was on and apparently the Scottiie Parker deal is still on and will probably happen next week, due to West Ham needing cash to strengthen their squad. The presenter Andy Goldstein was pushing him for more detail but he wouldn't say much more than Parker is on his way and it's either Liverpool or Spurs, although he didn't actually say the club names but the hints were pretty obvious. The hack is a big West Ham fan and reckons that his sources are pretty much 100% accurate and 'Arry is back in for Parker again on the QT and Liverpool are cash strapped due to the Chinese pulling out of the deal to takeover the club.

Im quite surprised no one really said anything about this.

Maybe its me or i think everyone might be accepting S.Parker.
I donno bout you guys i think he is good and all but really skeptic when it comes to his injury records. Yes he did well last season but i dont want another woody.

Not saying he aint gonna improve our squad but i think he will considerably improve the squad but if he is injured then.. lets just say being old aint helping :D

I think he has a tendency to over-assert himself in a group of peers and while it may have worked at West Ham, it will I sense prove counter-productive at Spurs (where he will be in the 2nd-tier of players talent-wise)...

Arry feels that we need more sargeant-major in the dressing-room, but I dont think he has the gravitus, professional-status to get away with being 'Scott Parker' with our better, more talented players...

as Keano won't... repeat WON'T ... be going to the Porn-Brokers... thankfully, Parker will be not be at Spurs any time soon either..

gravitus --> gravitas
sargeant --> sergeant
pantamime --> pantomime

contiguous, continental, contiguous, continental, contiguous, continental...
He's strained his left adductor muscle it says. Whats that then ? Do we all have those or just footballers ? I wonder how mine are ? *courtesy of taimedowne*

Well I have to say that I like him as a player. He has that great english bulldog playing style that I think would work wonders with Huddlestone in the centre of midfield. If we can get him, and get rid of JJ, then I'll be one happy man.

Parker and Jenas.... the classic examples of differences in perception and reality..

how many caps has the mouth-on-short stumpy legs Parker got ??..... and how many has Jenas got ??

Jenas shouldnt go to Stoke on permanent transfer but agree to a 6-month loan to get playing time... or maybe just stay put and collect his wages (still 3yrs left on contract I checked to see)...

Parker is just a bigmouth that the Spam players might have to put up with, but the better class of players at Spurs would soon tell him to f-off if he tried any of his BS on them.... and where would he play exactly - on the wings ??.... in the centre and kick out THudd and Modric ??.... maybe upfront as stand-in for Crouch ??....

Spam will get dosh they need by selling Carlton to Liverpoo...... so Parker sale is not happening, bank on it.

Well considering we have got the money for a Ferrari, it doesn't seem so far fetched. :ohyeah:
