Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini has revealed that he would accept a £28 million offer from Tottenham Hotspur to sign duo Simon Kjaer and Edinson Cavani. Gibes direct quotes from Zamarini, If its credible I'm not sure but anyway worth a read

28m for both! 14m ea, not bad not fantastic, maybe Levy can bring it down a bit to 24m, two young good players, they both have great potential at 21 and 23 respectively but I haven't seen enough of them to really judge how good they are.

Another report suggest Ipswich have turned down an offer from us of 5m for Connor Wickham, "the new Rooney" and Harry is thinking of upping the bid to 8m, if we got him he would be loaned back to them.

Connor Wickham has a great u17 eng record, and definitely has a bright future if football stardom doesn't get the better of him, he has been described as being as good as Rooney at the same age but bigger at 6"4 and very solid, If managed correctly he could be a future England striker,  lets not forget David Moyes who managed Rooney very well, not starting him too early until he was mentally ready, if the report is true which I hope it is this could be a very exciting one, but before I get carried away, I have to point out a few things to suggest that we won't be getting him, the report says Harry made the bid, Levy actually handles all the deals, and unfortunately Roy Keane's comments suggest Ipswich will resist selling him.

Kjaer, i thought looked a little out of his depth vs the Dutch in their first game, not seen any other Danish games. But he is still young and he was on the world stage i guess

Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini claims Tottenham have made a double bid for Simon Kjaer and Edinson Cavani.

Sky sports is one of a few websites, to report Tottenham have had 28m bid accepted for Palermo pair Cavani and Kjaer. So this is why Levy was in Italy, before it was speculation linking us with several strikers playing in Italy including Huntelaar, Iaquinta, Lavezzi. This is a good move, to bright young players, and and adds depth to the squad, with Woodgate's career touch and go may not play another game, and King who can't pklay two games in a row and his injuries are becoming more frequent, this also surely means the end for Keane, and Pavlychenko, I still believe Pav and Defoe should have been our starting strikers, but questions over Pav's mentality have cost him his place.

Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini claims Tottenham have made a double bid for Simon Kjaer and Edinson Cavani.

A host of clubs have been linked with the highly-rated pair with Palermo resigned to losing the star duo this summer.

The likes of Manchester United, Manchester City and Inter Milan have been credited with an interest in Danish international Kjaer, while City and Wolfsburg are thought to be keen on Cavani.
However, Tottenham are hoping to steal a march on their rivals by making a double bid for both players.

Zamparini claims Spurs have tabled a bid of €35million (£28million) for Kjaer and Cavani and that the offer was too good to turn down.

"Tottenham have bid €35m, an offer we cannot refuse, seeing as the two players have both said they want to leave," Zamparini told Sky Italia television.

"We will reinvest the money for these players," assured Zamparini. "The midfield is my biggest concern, whereas in defence and attack we are fairly covered."

Spurs boss Harry Redknapp is keen to bolster his squad as he prepares for the Champions League next season and landing Kjaer and Cavani would be a major coup for the White Hart Lane outfit.

WTF Tottenham have dismissed the reports that we had a 28m bid for Cavani and Kjaer accepted, I ask why the hell not, I only hope the reason why is that we are holding our for bigger and better players, you would have to say we lack ambition in the transfer market, half our signings are players who were brought back to the club, Keane, Defoe, Kaboul, etc. Krancjar and Bassong were great additions but other than that we struggle to attract, or get those big signings. I have a growing fear that this transfer window maybe as frustrating as the last missing out on the likes of Huntelaar, not even bidding, this window we didn't put in a bid for Dzeko before his buy out clause expired, we really have a chance to bring in some quality, or is Levy just hoping of keeping the profits from our top four places and getting to CL qualifying, we need to get through qualifying though this could be a huge step forward for the club, with our current squad we have two very noteable problems, not having good enough strikers, and two liabilities in defence in woody and King, sure Dawson and Bassong are great, but outside of them we have no cover, we all know the problems of Ledley not playing back to back games, injuries etc, and Woody may never return, this deal seemed perfect, kill two birds with one stone,

Yeah that thought had crossed my mind, but wouldn't denying it jeopardise our chances of successfully negotiating with Palermo, we are basically calling them liars.

Forlan Cavani and Kjaer would be great,  Joe Cole free transfer if not Sessegnon for 8m, and one of Portugal's best players this world cup Fabio Coentrao, who can play left mid or left back.

Yeah true... but the same can be said for Palermo too. Levy could be pissed at them for revealing it to the Media, and that could jeopardise our chances in getting them too, if other clubs are sniffing around.

Good point now according to their sporting director now, Wolfsburg are leading the race for Kjaer, he has mentioned other clubs are interested but won't comment if its Tottenham, he was basically been offered on a platter, we should have jumped at it. Before buying them toegether seems like a deal would be guaranteed, but at a higher price then individual sales, as Kjaer apparently has a 9m release clause, at 28m for both we would have been getting Cavani for 19m, maybe we should just buy Kjaer, if the 9m is true thats an absolute bargain even cheaper then Bassong, probaly around the same quality.

I don't know about this whole Palermo thing to be honest, Kjaer and Cavani don't strike me as very Spurs-like signings. Splashing £28m on players untried in the premiership or in the champs league seems like a risk that neither Harry nor Levy would take. It wouldn't surprise me if there was no truth in it at all.

I'm much more prepared to believe the Wickham link. I havn't seen the boy play but by all accounts he's mustard and tying down the best young english players is right up Levy's alley.

To be honest I think I got caught up getting excited for our first transfer of the window, and looking forward to filling the holes in defence and attack, we definitely need a good young defender if not Kjaer (also only 9m) someone similar, buying from the EPL only premier league proven is not necessary and to narrow, Harry and our scouts obviously know allot more then we do when it comes to judging players shouldn't matter which league they play in if they can adapt, theres a certain amount of risk to all transfers we don't need to limit our options.

My only fear is can we attract or pay for better players then the ones mentioned, we won't be getting Fabiano, Dzeko, thats for sure, very surprised if we got Huntelaar, or Suarez, maybe we could pull Forlan. We are continually linked with ever striker under the sun, Dzeko, Cardozo, Falcao, Huntelaar, Fabiano, Forlan, Suarez, Cavani, Quagarella, Iaquinta, Gyan now recently we have the lure of CL football, but so far I do not see any ambition in the market, I hope that just Levy making sure the deal is right for us, sometimes I believe his hesitancy has cost us, we missed out on Dzeko, Huntelaar, most noted ably.
I agree I really hope the Wickham link was true,

Seen abit of that Kjaer, he looks good and is very highley rated and apparently has had a great season in Italy, havent got a clue about Cavani but i reckon there is better out there and Connor Wickham is quality, i seen him play against Bristol City for Ipswich last season and the kid is absolute class but we all knoe what happens when youngsters come down to The Lane, splinters in bums and no futures sadly.

Definitely true with the youngsters, and Harry is a stubborn one with particular players including young talents like Dos Santos, yeah the reported deal was we buy him and loan him back to Ipswich to let him further develop, but really we should be more open to giving these players a go, obviously they aren't expected to start every game, but with such a long season, more so with CL qualifying, there is time for them to get their chance, there is always talk that he EPL is very physical, and Dos Santos would struggle as he is smaller in stature, he is very skillful and  pacey, a great dribbler, I believe he would be great and would draw allot of fouls, but instead he is is stored in the cupboard for a rainy day, or wrapped in cotton wool.
