Well, looks like he will be staying now
Sky Sports News understands that Eidur Gudjohnsen is set to complete a permanent move to Tottenham within the next 14 days.
The Monaco striker spent the last four months of the 2009-10 season on loan at White Hart Lane and helped Spurs clinch a UEFA Champions League place.
And, despite scoring just twice for Harry Redknapp's men during that time, the 31-year-old appears to have convinced the Spurs boss to offer him a long-term deal.
Gudjohnsen has already proved himself in the Premier League, scoring 78 times in 177 games for London rivals Chelsea before leaving Stamford Bridge in 2006.
A three-year spell at Barcelona yielded just 10 goals in 72 appearances, and saw the striker shipped out to Monaco last summer.
Rumours circulated that Gudjohnsen was to return to England this campaign for a season-long loan deal with Aston Villa, however it now looks certain that he will return to North London.
