Another   day, another bombshell transfer claim on the backpage of The Sun:

'Manchester   United have made Luka Modric their No 1 summer transfer target.'

According   to the paper, 'The Red Devils are preparing a £25million bid for   Tottenham's 24-year-old Croatian midfielder' with Sir Alex regarding   Modric as 'a young Paul Scholes, an attacking midfielder and ball player   who can make United tick.'

And there's more good news for United   fans and bad news for the Tottenham support: It seems as if Michael   Carrick could be heading in the opposite direction.

'Spurs boss   Redknapp is a huge fan of Carrick and may insist on him being part of   any Modric deal.'

Even Gordon Brown may enjoy the papers more   this morning than those of a White Hart Lane allegiance.

Lets hope he is happy to stay, the trouble is if he does want to join united theres not alot we can do except ask for a big price tag, whan a player wants to leave the club U can't have them in your team as it has a big negative on the rest of the squad

We have been in this situation before and let's face it - not many players can resist playing for Manchester United. If he wants to go (which I hope he doesn't) then we probably have no other alternatives but to let him go. For some reason I believe that he would move on like Carrick did (without animosity) and not bitch about the way Berbastard did.
