Keanes first season with twenty goals?

i heard that this is the first season Keanes scored more than 20 on the MoD commentary, is this true? and if so do we really need to spend millions on another striker?

yeah, I think his previous best was 17. 2004/05 season

Yeh, its true but he usually doesn't play all the games every season, as defoe replaces him. So his goal tallies are quite low, this is a season where he's been able to get his form 2gether but has left defoe's future questionable...

I think the big difference has been his link up play with berbatov, it has gien robbie a new vigor for the game.

Not to mention its been a 57 match season so far. More pitch time is always a massive factor.

The partnership betwwen Keano and Berbs is amazing. He beat last season's record of 16 goals. I do agree the diffrence is berbatov and the link up play when he scores.

I think Keano isn't an out and out goalscorer but due to Berby it has given Keano tons of chances and has really improved his game.

My thoughts exactly ! Though I think that any proven goalscorer playing along Berba could easily pass the 15-goal-a-season mark. Defoe has made it as well, even as a bench player, and half of his goals came from Berba's passes and nods in his way.

Keane is a better forward than defoe imo.

He's proved it this year and now i think it's time for defoe to leave as we all know he wont be happy about being a regular benchwarmer and it will soon start causing disharmony

keane and berbatov have the potential to be one the great all time premiership strike forces i still wouldnt like 2 see jd leave though i think its inevitable he will

Stop being so pessimistic!! JD might have the belief (as i do) that he is capable of fighting his way back into the team. he seems to have a very good character to be able to play as a sub this season

we need to have players challenging for a starting spot to keep everyone sharp, so I hope jd will stay, but i doubt he will

There's absolutely no doubt that Berbatov has been the difference between an average season for Keane to one that has so far yielded 21 goals. That 41 for the partnership combined in all comps - I bet you'd have to go back a long time to beat that.

I'll pick Keane over Defoe for the team everyday. Truely class Keane is, legend. Defoe is often very lazy and never gets back while Keane puts all the effort in. Berba and Keane is a partnership that will work extremely well for us for a years to come! Hopefully neither of them will leave.

we have to keep both strikers if we quaify for europe next year.
both brilliant players. if defoe had played as much as keane had he would have 25+ goals.
