Half way through

Here is my unbiased logical and fair review of the season so far.

Basically we have been 5h1te.

The positives are as follow.
1) We are in the top 4, but mainly because the teams around us have not take advantage of our 5h1teness.
2) We are starting to look better as a team
3) We beat Man Utd away

The Negatives
1) The only games (with exception to Man Utd) we have won are the games we are expected to win
2)We have dropped so many points against teams we should have got, such as
a) West Brom at home
b) Stoke at home
c) Wigan at home
d) Everton away
e) Newcastle away

in short we should have 9 points more than we have, that should put us in contention for the premiership title.

Whilst most of you will now be shouting for the head of AVB, I would say STOP and think for a moment, he may not be the idiot you think he is. Our away performances have been reasonable, and today against Sunderland Spurs were excellent (apart from that long streak of p155 Adebayor, of course). I would also say that the poor support our home fans have offered this season hasn't been great either.

In short, if we can win all the games we should do in the 2nd half of the season, and snatch a few more points from the top sides, I can see us getting a CL spot, but please Mr Levy, get a striker and creative mid fielder

Lol we can always say "where we would be if" and "we shouldn't have dropped these points" but nothing is set in stone and there is nothing in the laws of the game or sods law that says we should take certain points from certain teams, often the lesser teams fight harder and catch us by surprise as they have nothing else to play for other than pride and survival.

With the changes made after last season I think we are in a great position and have done well expecting to challenge for the EPL this season would be barmy!! we currently win ugly a lot of the time but for me i would rather that than play pretty and get jack shyte.

The team is starting to gel and understand each other as our performances show.

on the subject of Ade, he is on a permanent deal looks half the player he was last season, maybe due to lack of match sharpness and fitness but either way he blew 2 great chances today!

Striker and creative Mid needed with a back up CB with EPL experience a journey man maybe who has a a few seasons left in him maybe to fill a void!

As for "unbiased". You are the most biased Spurs supporter I've ever met. Once you've made your mark (that you want AVB out) nothing they do will ever be worthy. Even if we won the double and European trophy in one season. You would say we are all being fooled.

I agree with all these points, apart from CB. I think that Verthonghen / Caulker look our best pairing, with Kaboul still to return. Dawson is too slow, sorry Michael, great goal yesterday, but facts are facts.
Where I think we are now struggling is the fullbacks. Walker is very up and down defensively, and his final ball in attack is poor generally, though he is still very young and I think he will only get better. Whereas most of the team have a challenger for their place, Walker dosen't.
As for LB I think we need one in January, as we are vulnerable in that area defending our left side, and who knows how long it will take BAE to return to full fitness. We need a LB in the same mold as Walker.
As for creative midfielder and striker, ABSOLUTE MUST !!
16 first half corners against Villa, no goals. 30 shots yesterday, only 3 goals. We were so much better than Reading that we should have smashed them 6 - 1.

I couldn't believe what i was reading that it's taken me this long to reply, albeit reluctantly.

UGS calls this irony?  FFS, that's not irony, that's a zhit poor way of disguising the fact hat he does not want to recognise that he has made a mistake and by doing this, he is beginning to see that we are not doing so badly under AVB after all. The thing is; it takes balls to admit that you are wrong!

With regard to Adebayor, too quick in judging him yet IMO. Injuries and a recent 3 game suspension have prevented him from getting back to his full match fitness. His goal against Reading yesterday will boost his confidence no end as well as that of the team.  You will be criticising Defoe next for his lack of goals in the last couple of games!

We are far from perfect and we will falter as some point before May and so will ManU, City and a few others around us, but for today at least, we are in 3rd place, ahead of the Arse and just half way through the season. With injured key players about to return soon and possible additions in the Jan window, things should definitely be on the up!
