I can only recall being embarrassed to be a Spurs fan on one occasion. That was when we sacked Martin Jol seemingly whilst the game was going on. According to legend the fans knew he'd been sacked before he did. It was a shameful way to treat a human being let alone a Manager who had had us within a hairs breadth of the Champions League.

No one could really work that out but there are always 2 sides to a story as with Redknapp we only get the media side I was sorry to see both of these guys go, however I maintain what I have said you support the side what ever, you support the club what ever.

And you should be proud to be a Spurs supporter as most of us are.

Sorry a12 but I am going to have to pull you up on that one. I respect your decision to show support during this situation. But I cannot accept that we should be expected to support every decision the club makes. I agree that we should support the side through good and bad times. No one should ever change allegiance to another club, for certain. However, if Spurs started saying they would never have black players at the club or started charging £500 for a ticket so that I would never be able to go and watch them, I would remove that support, it is my right. It is having that power that must be made clear to those running the club, so that they do not make ridiculous decisions. Thinking that their supporters will continue supporting them 'what ever'.

It is that kind of unwavering support that allows countries to go to war my friend.

Yes show your loyalty. Support every decision you believe in, but do not expect everyone else to show such unconditional support. Also, once a decision is made by the powers that be, we should not just think there is nothing we can do about it, so we should just go with it, without questioning it.

I take your point but I think its going a little off subject talking about banning black players from the club and £500 a ticket!

Football is a business like it or not, in business there are always decsions made that may or may not be right, for what ever reason Levy called time on Martin Jol nobody liked it but everybody got over it Redknapp would have walked away from Tottenham given the chance and as said we have heard the media side only.

AVB will be given a chance by most Spurs supporters with the exception of the two on this thread who's credibility must be in doubt! and I guess if he fails he will be gone and the club moves on we as supporters either accept it or walk away and support another team, but there will still be 36,000 at WHL every home league game this season no doubt about that!!!

How dare you doubt my credibility I have supported Tottenham Hotspur for over 40 years and stood on the the terraces as man and boy I was there even when we where a second division side something I doubt you remember. I have seen managers come and go along with players I've even seen Diego Maradona play at White Hart Lane back in 86, I also have a collection of replica spurs shirts numbering around 50 and memorabilia going back to the late 60's, so do not doubt my credibility.

Just because I don't follow the party line and blindly stumble along to the Chairmans beat dosen't mean I care any less than the next man, I have expressed my opinions and along with Baldbloke feel that 'Arry has been treated extremely harshly. If it had been Mourinho or Steve Kean in charge and had been treated the same way by Levy I would be voicing my concerns, I also can't see the blind logic of people who think that AVB will be success.

AVB won a back water league equivilent to our Division 1/Championship with a team that would have done well in the Premiership and a European trophy that has all the dregs of Europe in it that many of us haven't even heard of, a competition that most teams see as an inconvience until the last 8/16. We also have a unproven assistant manager in any league situation and a coach that no one has ever heard of !!!!!
Can you honestly say with hand on heart that you are happy for our club Tottenham Hotspur one of the biggest clubs in this country and in years gone by in Europe too, to be run by a bunch of unproven yes men !!!

If you do then I'm afraid you need to call your own credibility into question my friend and seriously look at your ambitionfor our great club !!!!!

For the record I am older than you, been supporting Tottenham longer than you watched more games than you!!! so dont question my ambition for the club.

Who's right or wrong we will find out soon enough.

I think what I dislike the most about all of this, is the way this episode has divided spurs fans. To the point that they are starting to compare d**k sizes! It does not matter if you are 10 years old and have supported spurs since you were 9. Have been to see only one game and does not own a spurs shirt but is hoping to get one for Christmas. Your age, opinion, credibility and ambition for the club is equal to any one of you idiots who think otherwise. Get a grip people!

Have different opinions, state your case, disagree with whoever you choose, using information and evidence that is relevant. But please do not turn this into a personal crusade, vindicating your beliefs over anyone else's, using criteria such as those mentioned above.

Spurs have got through too many managers. Give AVB at least a couple of years
