Does anyone know how our younger players are doing in the reserves such as dervitte, pekhart, dixon, charlie lee etc.i believe these players are highly regarded around spurs, but first team oppurtunities seem hard to come by what with strong competition, and us constatnly signing new players in the transfer windows instead of given the youngsters a chance.i havent seen any of these play before so does anybody on here think they would be good enough to break into the first team?

I sometimes wonder why we bother with a youth system at all. The youngsters hardly ever get in the 1st team squad and when they get to a certain age they are sold on to lower league clubs. Of the current squad only King is a home grown player with Ifill now only getting a game due to Lee's injury We are far from the only club guilty of this but you have to think that if you are going to invest a lot of money in young talent you ought to at least give them a run to see if they can cut it in the big time.

Pekhart, much like Barnard, has been banging in the goals for the reserves. He is too lightweight at the moment but looks a top talent.

Dixon has been injured for nearly a year. He is regarding as one of the brightest sparks in the coubtry at youth level which is promising. He has a full call up to the ROI squad when he was just 16 which says it all.

Devitte's debit was promising. I don't think C. Lee is good enough though. Didn't impress at Millwall

Apparrently dixon has had a huge battle with injury.  I think he was injured for over a year when he was just fourteen which set him back hugely.  From what i've heard he's only just got back to the level he was at which means he probably would have been immensely good without this setback

Yeh he did his knee but he is back now and is supposedly the Irish Rooney.

Dervitte and Pehkart are coming along nicely.
