Nice little summary there Paul, thanks for sharing.

I would normally add that Dawson is world class at this point however one of the regular posters is 'on holiday' right now so i will just say the problem is that WC defenders dont seem to be many or cheap.

Our problem isn't the quality of the back line, it's the HEALTH of the defensive four. If they were healthy all the time it would be considered an embarrassment of riches. Even still, Hutton - Dawson - Gallas - BAE across the back with Corluka, Kaboul, Bassong / Khumalo in reserve is pretty formidable. If Woodgate or King could ever go - fuhgetaboutit! Our strikeforce has done basically nothing this season outside of a nice stretch from Pav. All our scoring comes from midfield. It's maddening watching our team dominate possession, create chance after chance, take over 20 shots on goal and come up with a 1-1 draw or 1-0 loss!
He's strained his left adductor muscle it says. Whats that then ? Do we all have those or just footballers ? I wonder how mine are ? *courtesy of taimedowne*

I fear we would end up paying an inflated fee for what at the moment in Carroll is an average striker, similar to what Villa have for Bent. I don't neccessarily think that he could move us onto the next level, which we are looking for. This is why it is taking so long to find a top top striker.

So, is it Benzema then? We are certainly clearing a lot of weekly wages. Clearly, the club is up to something, and I'm confident we will have a new forward by the end of the day Monday. Allegedly, Benzema was in London earlier this week -- and Adebayor has been loaned. Makes sense. I would be thrilled to see Forlan in a Spurs shirt, though!

Unfortunatly not a chance that Benzema will be loaned by RM. He was bought by the president and as one of 'his' guys there is no way they will lose face by sending him out. In Spain the president of the club calls the shots even when JM is the boss. More to the point he is playing more or less every week and scored a very well taken goal last night for them.

I fancy us to get Suarez at the last minute, out-bidding Pool

Or as i predicted as far back as October we will get nobody if we didnt shift enough out.

Cant see us getting  Benzema he has been banging the goals in lately for Real...i doubt they would be looking to sell now.

That's right. The ex-Arse is cover for Higuan, so I don't think that is a hint that Benzema will go.

I dont' think we'll get anyone, even if I can't understand why we don't plunge for Fabiano. His agent has been going around Italy like a whore trying to get teams to take him. Seville are  clearly willing to let him go. Why is nobody interested, including Harry?
