Should Tottenham Keep Keane?
« on: May 06, 2010, 10:35:26 PM »
With Champions League Qualification now in the bag. Bigger players can now be attracted to The Lane.

So the question is should Spurs keep Keane? Is he needed anymore?

Up to the Gaffer. ALthough i wouldnt be sad if he was to leave. Captain King and 2nd in command Dawson is more than enough to lead. Look at Berba, he sux now. Keano no better

I would say no, but that all depends if we bring in another quality striker.
I think Super Pav will B leaving although he's shown us wot he can do, but i reakon we'll buy before we sell

My only concern about not having Keano is that apart from Super Pav we have lacked goals in the second half of the season.  I think Keano brought something to the team and clearly he has his scoring boots back on but perhaps his time has come. Harry wouldnt have loaned him out if he fitted in with his plans so bye bye Keano I reckon.

depends if keane is happy with sitting on the bench... because i would much rather Defoe and crouch as first choice and maybe a New big name if we sign one

No, and quite frankly buying him back from Liverpool was a mistake. He scored a few goals but never really got his form back after his confidence was shattered by Benitez. Better to sell him on he still has a future in the Premier league but I dont think it's with us. Harry may have brushed it off but I think he was livid about the Ireland trip and Farming Keane out to Celtic was ample proof of that. We can get better players now and although it's been said above that Pav will leave I think we should try and keep him. His best days at Spurs may well still be ahead of him, as soon as he felt wanted he became the player we all wanted him to be and will only improve in my opinion.

No.

If Robbie Keane isn't at Villa or Newcastle at the start of the season, I will be very shocked.

Obviously there is an issue between Harry and Robbie because I can't see a reason why a manager would loan out his captain. I like Keane, he has been my favorite player for years (I even forgave him the whole Liverpool affair). I'm not sure if Harry himself knows what to do with him, to be honest. Celtic have stated that they would very much like to buy him but their hopes were rather quickly shattered by Harry and Joe Jordan. I'd like to see him play for Spurs next season but if he was to leave, I'd rather see him playing for Celtic, not for Villa or Toon or any other EPL team.

Bringing him back for his secound spell was a mistake, i will always thank him for the job he has done at spurs but now his time has come to an end, sell him to the highest bidder in the summer and generate some funds for a big name striker!
