Bale is a phenomenal player, and we saw him here first (or at least his greatness). He conquered and dazzled the fans and we wanted more. In some cases it looked like he had taken on every single team single handily. He was 16 years at our club, until he was sold for – then – a record fee. He scored 55 goals for us in all competitions. Then he moved to Real Madrid and started winning the trophies that he was unable to win with us.

Impressive. Just imagine if he stayed with us and what he could have won… exactly, I know what you are thinking… but they can’t touch you for it.
The speculations for the last couple of years is that we will repurchase him, after all, he has a clause in his contract that if we can match what any other team offers him then he is ours. That is if he wants to leave Real Madrid.
After Real Madrid beat Liverpool 3-1, the speculations intensified when Bale made specific comments that looked like he wanted to move on because he wasn’t getting enough football where he is (he came on as a sub and scored two of the goals). The only problem is that he is on £600,000 per week. And there aren’t many clubs that can afford that sort of price, certainly not Spurs. Even United – who are favourites – would bulk at that sort of money. But that hasn’t stopped our fans from going into overdrive and saying all kinds of things in the belief that he is coming back here. If bollocks could detach themselves from the penis, then you would have ready-made earrings. There are a lot of “ifs” and little reality in fans thinking. If only they could put their thinking into running our club, then this conversation wouldn’t be happening as we wouldn’t have a club by now. Thank God for small Murfs. Anyway, back to reality.
So, will Bale go or stay? Me thinks he will stay, but if he does go then it will be to a European team. It has been reported that Bale doesn’t like José Mourinho’s style, but money is a powerful aphrodisiac. What was the phrase when negotiating the National Health service in 1946: “stuff their mouths with gold”? Money talks and Bale will go wherever the money is, but it won’t be to our new stadium. So that is sorted.
No Bale to N17 then. He is 28 years old and running out of years in the top flight so there may come a time when he might offer himself to us at a bargain price, but by then we would have moved on… but who knows! If it weren’t for dreams, then there would be nothing wet to wash us down by and put smiles on our faces.
I went to the Real Madrid game last year – home & away – and I was disappointed that he didn’t play. But then again I would have been more disappointed if he had made the difference and scored the goals that might have beaten us. You can never win…
So; I am sorry to report that he won’t be coming to our neck of the woods (unless it is with one of our opponents).
I like to add a Caveat: there is also speculation that he is prepared to lower his wages if he went to Spurs. This is pie in the sky and no foundation to this rumour other than the press making hay out of it. He is a young lad that thinks of his family and his and their future and there is no way that he will take a pay cut just to please Spurs over the future welling being of his family. The only way that could happen if offers dried up.
Onwards and upwards. We moulded him, we made him into the superstar he is now. He will always be in our hearts, and no doubt a little bit of us is in him.
Yoko Ono famously said “A dream you dream alone is only a dream. A dream you dream together is reality.”
There you have it… all you need now is that our combined dreams include Tottenham Hotspur FC making riches out of their new enterprise/ stadium to be able to do what we’ve been dreaming about.

It is all sent to try us, we dedicated loyal supporters who are purists in a world of ever-changing footballing madness.
As one fan said to me “What a load of s**t, not football fans… s**t fans”. Another said, “Who wants a scarf with Tottenham on one side and s**t on the other…?” When I asked him to elaborate, he said, “God man, are you stupid or blind… what dimension (?) are you from.”
Well, as far as I know, the Twilight zone, I replied, with good humour.
“The what fooking scarf is that… I don’t want to see a scarf with Tottenham on it and the Twilight Zone… are they none league?”
Changing the subject quickly, but not before adding, we’ll leave that to Rod Serling… then immediately regretted it.
“What… Ars*nal bastard is he?”
Could be, could be… but he is dead… probably too much time in that other dimension… anyway, you are not a half-scarf fan… then I quickly hurried away (back to the living… I hope).
You get my drift. They are not liked by “true” supporters, whatever that means, as I know a lot of lifelong Spurs supporters that buy them. It is called Souvenirs. It is there to make money for whomever. It is not just in this country, but across the European continent and probably beyond, who have gone mad about this craze.
Fans, young kids on their first journey to Tottenham or whatever team that tickles them, purchase the scarfs with joy (Question is, why didn’t Joy explain the fundamental commandments of cross-eyed football supporters?). They want a memento to take home and show all their friends that Spurs had played Ars*nal or whatever match they saw.
You see the sellers outside stadiums, thrusting their wares in front of you… “Proper” fans turning their noses up and walking away, with the occasional Scarf seller shouting “you’ll regret it if Spurs win, what will you have to remember that great event by,” or something just as ridiculous.
Of course if one waited to after the match, then you might find they’ve been slashed to half the price.
Anyway, it is not liked by the majority of fans. Some have even tried to get them banned from their club. But who is going to stop money being made?
That is not the only phenomenon I’ve seen. When we played Liverpool at the old stadium a young lady, sitting not that far from me, was wearing a Tottenham half-Shirt sewn on to a Liverpool half-shirt. When somebody questioned it – a Steward – she said she supported both teams. At least she won’t go home disappointed with the result. Next step is for an Ars*nal/ Chelsea or West Ham half and half person walking into the stadium. And that isn’t that far-fetched (not the wearing) as I’ve talked to many Spurs season ticket holders who also hold a season ticket for West Ham/ Ars*nal or Chelsea. I was going to add; even all three, but that would be ridiculous as even a twisted morphing psychopath couldn’t go to all the matches at the same time.
What is the world coming to? I remember the time when your team was decided by the nearest stadium you lived by. Then as people moved further away from their home grounds, it just became a case of picking a team. That was usually decided by how well the team was doing when you chose it. Some even looking abroad to find their ideal club.
I’ve known a person to support one team one year and then, as “their” team sort of dived, went looking for another team. When confronted, I was told “I want to be known or associated with success… or when my mind changes the team changes for me… what is wrong with that?” Plenty, but let us not go into that here. The football world does feel, sometimes, like you have actually entered the Twilight Zone.

Yes, I know… half & half scarfs, half & half shirts, fly by night supporters… you’ll think you will wake up in a minute… but when you do… you’ll find it wasn’t a dream, but true bollocks has encroached on our football and has been taken over by the Wombles or even worse the lunatics from planet Nine, at 2 O’clock past the second rock. Yes, you’ve entered the twilight zone.
And what next? We already have families split because of different loyalties so it won’t be that… how about your spouse bringing home a penguin and saying this is my new Ars*nal buddy and I now have conscious thoughts about it on days when there is no football… Then reaches into his pocket and pulls out a chocolate bar and easts it in front of you (you suddenly realise that the chocolate bar is a Penguin bar…) God help us! You will be thinking, is that bollocks real or is the author of these rambles just bloody mad? I suppose that depends on where one is standing when these thoughts occur. But madness always plays a part when jotting down one's impressions, where did I leave those pills!
Until the next moon rising, I shall leave you with these happy thoughts.

We start off posting, even if it is debating between us and hopefully more will join us. Keep your eyes glued and hope others will join us. I shall continue writing articles, as I've been doing.

So good old boy Pochettino has been given a pay rise. Was he worth it? Methinks so. Ever since he took us to the dizzy heights of Champions League football, over 3 years, other clubs have been sniffing around his backside. No firm bids were made, but that didn’t stop leaked reports pissing every Spurs fan off.
My personal view is that he would have been stupid to leave. After retiring from football he was made coach of his old team Espanyol, his second professional team he played for. He was there for three years (2009-12) before leaving on mutual consent. But his star started to rise as some commentators were impressed with his style and enthusiasm.
Little old Southampton beckoned, and of course, they were looking for someone, as their manager had departed. He came, he saw, and he conquered. Only a year at Southampton and his form was impressive. In his first full season in charge, he took them to eighth position in the league, the highest the club had been since the 2002-3 season. Everybody started to take notice. The Southampton fans loved him.
In the meantime, Tottenham Hotspur was looking for their 10th manager in 12 years. Good reports of what Pochettino was doing at Southampton tickled the Tottenham board enough to make a swoop.
In his first season he took Spurs to fifth position and Europa league football. This was followed by third place spot, which was followed by second and then third. The last place was done under upheaval conditions. We moved from White Hart Lane to Wembley and primarily played all our games away from home. The critics lunged and gave Spurs no chance. We were supposed to fall out of the top four spot and be humiliated in the Champions League. None of that came to pass, but considering that we played under such conditions, our achievements weren’t that bad.
Now we move into our new stadium and a new phase in our history. So, yes, I agree that he should have been given a wage rise, at the same time I believe that for other clubs to attempt Pochettino away would have been stupid on their part and Pochettino’s part if he had accepted them. He hasn’t won anything yet, the longest club he has been at is his current club, Spurs. To walk out of Spurs and straight into oncoming headlights would have been stupid. So signing a new five-year deal was more realistic. But he isn’t out of the woods yet. He must build on what he has achieved with his players over the four years he has been at the club. He needs to get rid of the dead wood and bring in fresh blood. Then he must challenge for top honours.
Some are saying that City will be at the top for many years to come. Bulls**t. Were they really that good, or were the others that bad and not up to the mark? United was blowing hot and cold, Spurs had their own demons (no home fixtures for a whole season). Liverpool had moments of brilliance, but at the same time showed ordinariness. Ars*nal and Chelsea had their own difficulties and had to settle for European football’s no-mans-land. So, it wasn’t a case of City’s brilliance, but the others failures to get their house in order to challenge City. When clubs shrugged off their own lethargicness and rose above the parapet, they took the game to City and won (United, Liverpool (three times) and little old Wigan).
Spurs lost or drew some stupid games, where they should have won. Next season isn’t going to be that easy for them either. An untested pitch will give a feel of away matches, until they can embed themselves in and make the new ground a fortress, just as they did at White Hart Lane.
If Pochettino can’t achieve anything in the next five years, then it is time for him to move on. Not only from his point of view, but ours as well.

What a day it was yesterday. Let us start at the beginning.
Whatever happened on Sunday we were in the European Champions League. However, we had a chance to cement third place if we won (by whatever score). Not to do so and Liverpool wins then we would fall into fourth spot. Also; if Liverpool lost and Chelsea won then they would swap positions.
The day started early for me. I left my house at 9.30 am, got to Ruislip at 11 am and then left my car at my cousins and took a bus and Tube to Wembley. Once there I went to Tottenham’s hospitality lounge, had a good meal, chat about possible outcomes and then made my way to my seat (I was in the hospitality lounge 2 hrs & 30 minutes).
Before the match the person next to me pointed out Glasgow Rangers result (it ended 5-5). We waited with anticipation for the game to start. They scored first, we equalised, then they went 3-1 up and some thought that that was it. I did think we could score more goals, but by how much was the question. Pochettino’s formation was different and interesting.
Then the fightback came and we got goals, eventually taking it to 4-4. Then Kane scored and I remember saying to my seat-neighbour that this could end as the Glasgow Rangers match did. Our hearts were jumping all over the place. Mixed emotions were here, there and everywhere. Finally, the whistle blew, and we were relieved. God! What an intense game.
We took a breath as the players marched off and then waited in our seats for them to come out again and do their lap of honour.
After the match I went back to the hospitality area and had a few teas, chatted for the last time, at least for this season and then made my way home. Done deal. We were fourth. The end of a strange and unusual season.
THE MATCH
Mauricio Pochettino said it is a "very exciting moment" for the club after they ended the season by winning a sensational nine-goal thriller against Leicester to clinch third place in the Premier League. We trailed 3-1 after 47 minutes, scored three goals in 11 minutes to lead 4-3, only to be pegged back to 4-4 before Harry Kane curled in a 76th-minute winner.
The game was our last at Wembley before they return to the redeveloped White Hart Lane next season.
"It was a fantastic season to finish third and guarantee the Champions League next season," Pochettino told Match of the Day.
"With the move to the new stadium, it is a very exciting moment for this football club.
"It means a lot for the club, the players and the fans."
Kane's winner was his second goal of the game, after he levelled following Jamie Vardy's opener, and takes him to 30 Premier League goals in a season for the first time.
We were 2-1 behind at half-time after Riyad Mahrez had added to Vardy's early header and three minutes after the break Kelechi Iheanacho smashed into the top corner from distance to give Leicester a two-goal cushion. We responded with three quick-fire goals, two for Erik Lamela and an own goal from Christian Fuchs.
In a remarkable second half, Vardy then drew Leicester level with his side's fourth of the afternoon, smashing into the roof of the net after a trademark run in behind the defence. However it was Vardy's international team-mate Kane who had the final say with his effort from the edge of the penalty area, meaning Leicester finished the season ninth.
So that is that and we start all over again in season 2018/19 and a new beginning with it.
For Spurs to be able to get a good season in the Champions League we need new players; some will go, new ones come in and then hopefully we might be more successful in the Trophy department. Fans are paying a great deal for their season's tickets so expect more and will demand more. They – the fans – may moan about prices, but will end up accepting it if there is success and continuation of a top-four spot. Falling below the line will cause unrest and protests.
We all want success, how we get it is down to Levy and Pochettino… not to get it then the fireworks will come, plus probably half-filled stadium.
To next season my friends. Next stop is holidays, summer, World Cup, friendlies, transfer windows, purchases and goodbyes… then on to the new season with two Test-matches (for the new stadium) and then we begin all over again (this time with the hope of winning some silverware).

So that is that and we start all over again in season 2018/19 and a new beginning with it.
For Spurs to be able to get a good season in the Champions League we need new players; some will go, new ones come in and then hopefully we might be more successful in the Trophy department. Fans are paying a great deal for their season's tickets so expect more and will demand more. They – the fans – may moan about prices, but will end up accepting it if there is success and continuation of a top-four spot. Falling below the line will cause unrest and protests.
We all want success, how we get it is down to Levy and Pochettino… not to get it then the fireworks will come, plus probably half-filled stadium.
To next season my friends. Next stop is holidays, summer, World Cup, friendlies, transfer windows, purchases and goodbyes… then on to the new season with two Test-matches (for the new stadium) and then we begin all over again (this time with the hope of winning some silverware).

Tomorrow we go back to Wembley for the last time to not only say goodbye to our temporary home, but to try to cement our third place position. The supporters will also be given a chance to recognise and thank the players for their efforts over the season. And we can say cheerio to the friends we’ve made and thank the staff for the way they’ve treated us (I speak as a Premium member); making us feel welcome.
Leicester have had an up and down season and if they should win (hope not) and Everton lose then they will go eighth. So we are both fighting for something, plus pride. In Leicester City’s last home game they beat Ars*nal 3-1, denting Wenger’s going memories. But we have home advantage and remember that we’ve only been beaten twice at home in the league (Chelsea & City).
But it is our team we should be concentrating on. After an upheaval season with plenty of surprises thrown in, we’ve finally got a chance to finish third, which wouldn’t be bad considering we haven’t had a home match for a whole season. That is including playing Champions League football, where nobody gave us a dogs chance. But it isn’t just about third, and the bonuses the players will get, it is also about pride, intent and their own positions. Pochettino will be looking over the team assessing them to see who will go, who will be relegated to squad work and what players he will need to challenge for silverware.
After tomorrow’s game it will be a long break, with a World cup thrown in and England’s predictable exit and the fans disappointment, and then the friendlies and the wait for the Premier League to start. But 2018/19 season won’t be any old season but a season where we begin to build for a new future in our new 62,000 seater stadium. A new dawn will open up for us.

Eric Dier returns after missing the win over Newcastle through illness, but Harry Winks remains unavailable.
Leicester are still without Ben Chilwell, Robert Huth, Daniel Amartey, Vicente Iborra, Wilfred Ndidi, Matty James and Shinji Okazaki.
Danny Simpson and Kasper Schmeichel could also miss out, and Marc Albrighton is suspended.
