Sincere hello from Reading’s “Royals Rendezvous”
« on: August 06, 2012, 04:04:02 PM »
Hello everyone, and I’m here ‘in peace’ on behalf of Reading’s “Royals Rendezvous” forum. I realize that this is a specialist Spurs forum site. You’re guaranteed nothing of wind-ups from us, and we already have excellent relations with forums from most teams in the Championship. Now, of course, we've moved up a gear, and we look forward with excitement (and a fair bit of trepidation) at rubbing shoulders with the big boys – we’re not arrogant by nature, most still think of ourselves as little ‘ol Reading!

I hope that I may contribute occasionally on here with sensible comments, especially when we have common themes – like for our forthcoming games, or specific player transfers between the two clubs, and always with fullest respect shown to you guys, that’s a promise. I’m a moderator on RR, so wouldn’t have it any other way …

Thanks,
daib0 (David)

Ah, just a small point, in the registration process, we still have to name Harry Redknapp as manager - worth updating and it might confuse some!

Howdy Reading supporter,

I don’t know why more fans from other clubs don’t join different team  forums. Chatting about football and other such issues can be good for everybody. In my day we used to mix with different supporters, even the Gunners, and everything was fine. We used to meet in the pub and chat over tactics and such things and it created a very friendly atmosphere. All that changed in the 70s and 80s when a new breed of supporter came along and just wanted to fight. I am pleased that things now have settled down. So I welcome somebody from another club. Respect is the word we should all abide by.

Do people think it is time to remove some of the seats and allow standing again? In my day only the rich could afford to sit. Now, especially with what you pay to go to a match, everybody is rich. If I remember rightly we had (Spurs record) about 75,000 for a cup match at White Hart Lane.
