I think at club level at least Townshend has been found out. He charges down the right cuts in and blasts the ball in roughly the direction of goal. Sometimes it goes in and everybody wets themselves at his amazing talent. More often it strikes an unsuspecting member of the paying public, who'd just popped out to watch a game of football. He needs to add more to his game than that, maybe he might consider occasionally looking up and see if he can pass to Mr Soldado who spends much of his time wandering aimlessly between the goal line and a spot halfway to the centre circle nurturing the so far vain hope that one of his team mates will notice him. Or maybe he could work on taking corners so that we actually score a goal from the many corners we seem to win and then do nothing with. Can anybody remember the last time we scored from a corner not including defenders clearance's knocked back in? Townshend has potential no doubt about it, but he needs work to reach the level where real Madrid would be interested. His omission from the last couple of starting 11's would seem to indicate AVB has his doubts and Lamela is going to be forcing his way into the team once they have him settled.
