Van Der Vaart Is Out! Terrible news.

Really?

I thought it wasn't nothing serious when he went off against United

On sky sports news it said he will miss the clash against Inter Milan. I will look around round for more information on it though.

Julio Cesar and Cambaisso both out for Inter Milan. We must get a draw at least and hope for FC Twente and Werder Bremen to draw to keep our hopes alive.

then I guess you were right then.... looks like Modric will find a place in the side against Inter after all then....

If Van der Vaart is out then we will have to play a proper 442. with Crouch and Pav upfront.

It's a real shame because we were justing starting to look good with VDV in the hole, just need to get Huddlestone fit so we can get our best midfield out.

Like to see this line up on Tuesday

                         Gomes

Hutton           KIng        Kaboul      BAE

Lennon     Hudddlestone   Modric     Bale

                  Crouch          Pav

If King isn't fit then Gallas

yeah Ugsy... what a great idea..

play THudd and Modric (those 2 amazing stamina athletes who can run fast for 93mins) at CM when we have 2 very wide-midfielders who rarely know how/when to 'come inside', against Inter Milan who will play with 1 striker upfront and 5 in the midfield...

sheer genius  :2funny:

or maybe.... Jenas will play...... I think I already know the answer to that one...

Quote
Suddenly the world seems a brighter place, the sun in out, the birds and signing in the tree`s and Huddlestone and Van der Vaart could be fit to face Inter Milan tomorrow night.

According to reports, both players took a full part in training this morning and I assume that as long as there is no adverse reaction from their ankle and hamstring injuries, both will start and with that our chances of beating the Champions league holders will look a whole lot brighter.

Reading between the lines last week, it seemed that Hudd was close but not close enough to be fit for Saturdays trip to Old Trafford, so the chances of him making the Inter game had to be reasonable, but in the case of Van der Vaart, it looked almost certain that he would miss the game and possibly several more, but for once the footballing gods seems that they might just be with us and our superstar could line up tomorrow and I for one cannot wait...

It's a shame that we won't have Gomes in goal.

So looks like VDV and Huddlestone are going to be in contention! Great news after the early scare of both not returning but we are still very worrying at the back. Every player must stand up and be counted for tomorrow night because this is one of the biggest games White Hart Lane is going to witness in years! This is why we wanted CL football lets just hope we give it a real go and play out of our skins. Gomes being absent is another big miss and the front line hasnt been firing well lately but if the midfield can run the game and dictate the lay i have a feeling we will get result. Draw or Win i will take either but i hope we dont just roll over like the first half in Milan. Also i have plans tomorrow night so i cant even watch it! Nightmare! Im going to be on my phone checking updates though and crapping my pants and hoping we get a result. YID ARMY!!!

Rafael van der Vaart and Tom Huddlestone look set to be fit to face Inter Milan in the Champions League.
Van   der Vaart trained on Monday and looks to have shrugged off the   hamstring strain he picked up against Manchester United on Saturday.
Huddlestone   missed that match with an ankle injury but is expected to be fit, while   Carlo Cudicini is likely to start in goal with Heurelho Gomes   suspended.
Inter Milan have concerns over Esteban Cambiasso and Julio Cesar. Midfielder Cambiasso and keeper Cesar both came off during Friday's 1-0 Serie A win over Genoa with hamstring strains.

If Cesar and Camba are both out that would be a real bonus for us. Cesar is a fantastic keeper so will balance up our loss of Gomes.

We need every player to rise to the occasion tonight as they have some real quality in their team.

What if playing vdv results in him becoming injured more so and missing more games? Dont get me wrong we need him but its a risk also. And playing crouch is a waste of time if you ask me. At least pav is a threat.

Forgot to set my DVR to record this! I'm going to have to go home for lunch to set this to record so I can watch it when I get home. So we better do well.

Its just a mystery into what line up Harry is going to go with tonight, thats the thing with Harry you think you have an idea of how we are going to line up and then he comes with something totally different. Will it be 4-5-1 or 4-4-2 for a start? For me a would have to go for a back 4 of BAE-Bassong-Gallas-Kaboul, I would leave Hutton out for this one and put Kaboul at Right Back because hes stronger and better defensively than Hutton but he must not give away stupid free kicks like he does! Would you play Crouchy also?

I feel like we have the mental advantage over them this time... After coming back from 4-0 with 10 men away from home... had to be a massive blow for them. And after we got over the nerves we showed what we can actually do.

So i don't think the players will be scared of them this time and just all out

Goona be a tricky game we need to be right up for it and get at them, Arry must field our most attacking possible team and formation, this means leaving out Crouch!

I will be happy with coming away with a point!

How 'bout we put a wager on it? If Jenas isn't in the starting 11 you must post a picture of yourself and tell us about your relationship status and what you do for a living. I'd be happy to do the same -- but what are your terms if Jenas is excluded from the starting lineup as I expect?

Im so happy! Every single player out there played amazing for the whole 90 minutes, i cant find a fault and i dont want any one of you to start picking one out if there was one (Gareth). Truly amazing night at The Lane and i wish i could have been there, you could feel the atmosphere coming out the TV! Inter were completely outplayed. This is one of the best results i have witnessed as a Spurs fan since i have started supporting them im only 22 and i have seen many ups and downs and maybe more downs than ups but this was a classic spurs performance when were on our top game. Well done lads. Lets get a win against Werder Bremen and continue this amazing journey.     YID ARMY!!!!!!!

Brilliant performance. Best night as a spurs fan for me and I've been supporting them for over 20years now. This is how we can play. Modric is playing like he can and bale is a phenomenon. He played even better tonight than he did at the san-siro despite not scoring. Gallas was solid and kaboul played well despite the odd nervous moment. Everyone upped their levels tonight. Well done to all. Cant wait to hear from anyone who was actually there.

I honestly had to do a double-take when I saw this on Yahoo! Sports. I was like, "HOLY CRAP! Did Spurs just beat Inter or do I need to get my eyes checked?" :P

 :coys: :spurs: :yids:

Will watch highlights later, but man, this is perhaps the biggest Spurs win since I started following the club. (Not counting, of course, that one time we trounced L'Arse. :P)

I always thought we needed to got 1-0 first in this game or it would be hard for us, but the boys proved me wrong.

Bale was the nuts again! Even Jeans put in a good showing when he came on. Good goal from Eto aswell, but we holded on and got the 3rd.  :D

Top of group A, a win on matchday 5 and we're in the last 16!

absolutely fantastic display from each and every player tonight . make no mistake inter milan were well beaten on the night putting to bed nonsense talk that they had stopped playing 2 weeks ago when the lads made them crap themselves before the final whistle . now there;s no sense in getting carried away but one thing for sure there;s not one team looking forward coming to the lane in this competition i can tell you and if we officially qualify too the knockout stages and get our injured players back and maybe add the one or two players that can really make the difference in january then its not beyond reality to suggest with a bit of luck we could well be in the mix come the business end of the competition and dont forget what happens when the year ends in one especially that the final is in wembley.

Today I'm so proud to be a Spurs fan. What a game. We beat the Champions of Europe, and beat them well. These are the sort of results we need to build on. With a couple of top quality additions who knows how far we could go. The whole world will have seen that so attracting top quality players now shouldn't be to hard.

It was a fantastic performance throughout the whole team and plenty of praise has been heaped on Bale, Modric, VDV and so on, but I would like to give a mention to Younes Kaboul. I think he was immense. He won every challenge on the ground in the air and used the ball well. Probably his best game in a Spurs shirt. I also have to praise our support on the night. The ground was buzzing with anticipation/hope/fear before the game but as soon as VDV put us in front it was party party party all night long.

Agree..wonderful performance by the whole team..personally i thought Crouch was outstanding..he had a great game..holding the ball up and really lead the line for us....got a goal his performance deserved.

Had a great night down the pub...suffering today tho...but it was well worth it.
