hope that is the case as we are going to need to score Wednesday and without them to choose from it will be tougher

Why would they need to rest all of them?

I think Defoe is really injured, not sure about the others

make you right he's rested Bassong to the bench though King should play Wednesday think he could go Pav and Keane up front Wednesday even if Defoe is fit

Kaboul was given some gametime cos he will be playing on Wednesday... Keano wont play that game even if he's the only striker fit, as theres been a major flare-up between him and the mngt. over why he didnt start last Tuesday when Defoe was carrying a groin-strain before the match.... that'll teach the little c-hound to go bagging them big-brother whores so close to important matches...

think Crouch will start, as YGs will just defend their pen-box from the start.... we'll need to lob a few into Crouch and capitalise on the knock-downs...

I expect we will play with Pav and Crouch on Wednesday, Defoe is a defo injury, Keane is on his way to either West Ham or Celtic. Pav has a slight injury but is expected to be fit for Wednesday.
Team will probably look like

                     Gomes

Corluka      Dawson      King            BAE

Lennon      Palacious    Huddlestone  Bale

               Pavlyuchenko   Crouch

Or something very similar I expect, hopefully should be more than good enough to see off Young Boys !!!

Harry says that Defoe is the only one with a chance of playing on Wednesday, so it'll probs look like that except with Defoe in for Pav, but I dont know why he does'nt start with Niko in the middle instead of Sgt. P.

with Niko next to THudd, we'd be very vulnerable for the counter thru the middle.... remember their 2nd goal ??

Gomes

Kaboul/Corluka
King
Bassong
BAE

THudd
Palacios/Jenas

Bale
Defoe/Dos Santos
Lennon

Crouch

Gareth, just a quick FYI, erm Defoe is a forward, you know the type that like to play on the shoulder of defenders, hust thought I'd let ye know, and seeing has 'Arry has stated that we will go all out against Young Boys, so I think he may start with Niko as with his ability to thread passes through defenders we really coul see a high scoring game in our favour

Joe, A high scoring game with us not conceding is very good indeed. But a high scoring game with both team scoring is just dangerous

Do define which one you prefer :D haha!
But if in the end we win ala 9 - 1 like we did against wigan. Id eat my hat again!!

Defoe would have to be very doubtful , I think ugs lineup is close, Crouch looked very tired at the end of the Stoke game he worked very hard being the lone striker, I think if fit Robbie is better suited to play with Pav, he is more creative. Daws and King will definitely be center pairing, Corluka and BAE on sides, I wouldn't e surprised to Thudd and Sgt, in the middle, lets just see who is fit that is the big question.

I really hope Crouch is not a lone striker, and that someone else is fit, otherwise we would be relying on Bale for goals.

It seems that Defoe will be out for some weeks as he is going to have a surgery. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11661_6334272,00.html

If that is the case then surely the preferred option would be Keane and Pav up front. I'd also introduce Nico to add some creativity if needed. An early goal would be vital. Excited nonetheless.
