Starting 11 In View of Current Injuries
« on: April 06, 2013, 06:20:11 PM »
Okay, what is the best possible starting 11 we can put out considering our current injuries?

Looking first at the tricky game vs Everton then on paper the even more testing games vs Chelsea and Man City, as I feel even with wins in all these 3 matches we are going to be pushed all the way by the Goons for 4th place.

I would opt for:

Lloris

Walker Dawson JVT BAE

Parker Carroll

Holtby Dembele Sigs

Ade
THFC "COYS" and that is all I have to say about that!

Good choice Metal.
I might put Dempsey in and leave Carroll on the bench.

Metal I agree with you, Dempsey isn't worth his place, I think Carroll should be given the opportunity to show us just how good he is.

Carroll is an attacking central mid fielder, and the Portuguese moron doesn't recognise that position. You would have to swap Dembele. The point is though, that AVB will not start Carroll. To be honest, it's going to backs up against the wall today. I think the scousres will win by a goal
AVB OUT, AND TAKE LEVY WITH YOU

How do you know he doesn't recognise it? He has his reasons which you are not privileged to. You base your assumption on your dislike of him and not facts.

While lennon and bale are out. How about moving Walker up as a make shift winger. Team is lacking pace and did well setting up the 2nd goal against Everton

Pieboy I suggested that on another forum as we have no pace and walker is better going forward than defending, i think its a viable option as our back line would then be Naughton RB, Daws and JVT in the middle and BAE at LB play to everyones strengths.

I am not looking forward to our next few games as it could be season over for us!

The lads just need to ride out the storm of the next few games. Man city will be difficult and we be lucky to get a point out of it, be we need it to stay close to the pack.

Chelsea and Ars*nal both still need to play against Everton and Man U so it might go to the final day again

All in all I feel we must give the players and manager the credit they deserve. They must all be knackered and Villas-Boas' job has not been made easier with lack of investments and injuries which definitely stem from fatigue.

Agreed. He is doing his best with the fit playes he has left. If, as I suspect we do not progress to SF of Europa then he can fully concentrate on the remaining prem matches. This weekend off could be a blessing.

As much as I hate seeing Spurs lose, I think it might just be a blessing in disguise if we get knocked out of the Europa League, it will then allow AVB to to put all his time and effort into finishing Top 4 in the PL, plus it takes away 50% of the chance of more injuries, the only injuries we can get will be through the PL. Thoughts please!!

I personally think we should not give up on the Europa League, but at the same time I really cannot see us progressing as Basel have two away goals and will be giving their all against us.

That would be a great idea, but I doubt that AVB will do it.

I agree. If we are any good then we can deal with more than one competition. Going on Sunday's match we can give FC Basel a run for their money and I have confidence we can go through.
