De Eredivisie
Onyone likes this competition?
I thnik it's a nice competition. Not as good as the Premier League, Primera Division, Serie A or Bundesliga....... But comparable with Portugese Liga and the French Ligue 1.
Which club u prefer in Holland? Which players u like? Are u watchin' the matches?
Talk about it here!

I don't get a match with a Dutch side unless it's UCL or UEFA Cup, but I do keep tabs on it because there are a few Canadian players playing there. Don't like Jono de Guzman, though - he's Canadian but would rather play for the Netherlands, even though he has no Dutch connections whatsoever. We're not going to get any better if our players keep ditching. :p
That said, I really like Feyenoord anyway because a) they have another Canadian, Jacob Lensky, and b) a family friend of mine and her family are from the Rotterdam area. Can't say I mind Ajax, either ;) Good side, they are. Lots of tradition.
I don't really have a "hated side" there. Although as a casual Feyenoord supporter, something tells me I'll eventually come to hate Sparta :Green_Colorz_PDT_16

Waha, glad you like Ajax too. The Feyenoord-thing is pity, but.....
And yeah, Jonathan de Guzman is a real class act. One of the best Feyenoord-players, glad he wants to join the Dutch team! :D
Jacob Lensky also is very talented.
And, uhm... Heracles Almelo also has a Canadian player in their squad. Rob Friend, the striker who's on loan from SC Heerenveen.
-
I like AZ Alkmaar, purely as they knocked out the Barcode :tossa:s.
-
I'm not too big a fan of Rob Friend. He's good - he single-handedly kept Molde from getting relegated two seasons ago and won them the NM up in Norway - but he's kinda dirty. Apparently he can't keep his elbows in. The thing that really pisses me off about Jono is that his older brother Julian plays for Canada. I'd rather see Jono play for Canada, because this country needs players like him. But obviously he has no love for this country, just like Hargreaves didn't :(
Here's the official Canadians list from the Voyageurs (Canadian football fan club) site:
Jonathan de Guzman - Feyenoord (Dutch Eredivisie) (1)
Rob Friend - SC Heerenveen (Dutch Eredivisie) (1)
Josh Wagenaar - ADO Den Haag (Dutch Eredivisie) (1)
Marcel de Jong - Roda JC (Dutch Eredivisie) (1)
Will Johnson - SC Heerenveen (Dutch Eredivisie) (1)
Jacob Lensky - Feyenoord (Dutch Eredivisie) (1) Reserves
Graham Ramalho - Jong Groningen (Dutch Eredivisie) (1)
Robbie Giezen - Groningen (Dutch Eredivisie) (1) A-jeugd
Marcus Haber - Groningen (Dutch Eredivisie) (1) A-jeugd
Michael Nonni - Groningen (Dutch Eredivisie) (1) A-jeugd
Matt Lam - Ajax (Dutch Eredivisie) (1) A1
Dylan Hughes - VVV-Venlo (Dutch Eerste Divisie) (2)
on loan from RKC Waalwijk (Dutch Eredivisie) (1)
Brandon Bonifacio - Cambuur-Leeuwarden (Dutch Eerste Divisie) (2) Reserves
Well, whad'ya know? Ajax has a Canook in its system too! :D
I think only England and Germany have more Canadian players playing abroad in their country than the Netherlands. Norway is getting up there, too. So too is Hungary, oddly enough, there's this one second-division side that seems more obsessed with our guys than I am :Green_Colorz_PDT_42

I Love Van Der Vaart :D

The bolded ones, are the ones I know.... I logically don't know all the youthplayers exactly, so......
And yeah, AZ knoced out NUFC-s**t and they overclassed Middlesbrough two years ago. But even AZ was much better, the match ended in 0-0, hehe.
-
By the way, Ajax is interested in Reading's Steve Sidwell... Nice Player, isn't it?
And AFCA als wants Dario Srna (Shaktar Donetsk).... Hope they both will come.
-
Steve Sidwell won't go to Ajax I don't think. He is too settled with English football and at Reading.
However, he is a very good player and I think would fit well in with Ajax..?
-
how's Davids doing over there. Didn't he get sent off not long ago?
-
I like Ajax, I was gonna go to the Amsterdam Arena a few years ago too see U2 and Oasis but U2 cancelled the show, but since then I always played as Ajax on Pro Evo 1 and like too take a look at there results so too conclude Ajax are my Dutch side.
-
My mate was supposed to go to the concert I think, was ages ago though.
Some very talented Dutch players in the premiership too! :)
-
Roda JC are my team in Holland. May seem a strange choice but when I went to Holland for the first time I was near Roda and went to see them play. They won 3-1 against Heerenveen. From then on I supported them. I also watched the Australian national team play against thr Netheralands at Roda's stadium.
Other than Roda I would have to say it would be Ajax. Great players, Great fans and they're Yids like us.

About 20 million EURO'S should be enough for Klaas-Jan, I suppose...

Ajax are my Netherlands team. They have a few class players in Huntelaar, Sneijder and Maduro dont they? Its weird about Maduro as I scouted him out on Championship Manager 2006.......he was playing in South America, is he doing alright for Ajax? I also heard about the perfect 3-way title race. AZ, PSV and AJAX are all on the same points, the Dutch League sounds a good league!
-
Yup, Maduro still plays at Ajax. The last season he did great, this season he seems to have lost his form. Pity, because he's a real class. And, indeed, we have lots of good players at Ajax... Wesley Sneijder, KlaasJan Huntelaar, Jaap Stam, Gabri, Ryan Babel, Hedwiges Maduro, Kenneth Perez, Urby Emanuelson.....
By the way, the first summer-rumours have arrived. Ajax wants Steve Sidwell, Dario Srna and Ari Da Silva. I think Srna would be a great signing.
The titlerace...... Its amazing. Ajax, AZ and PSV all are on 72 points. AZ has scored the most goals, so they are number 1 in front of Ajax (2) and PSV (3). It will be very thight. And maybe, maybe we w
-
It's always good for the game when you have a tight title race :D I'm kinda torn as to which of Ajax or AZ I want to win, although PSV can get to feck for all I care :yucky_:
-
By the way, the new Dutch star plays in the D1-team of Ajax! What an amazing attacker. I don't know his name, but he has a black color. Brilliant!
-
Nice :D
Of course stars want to move to Ajax. They're the most prestigious team in the Netherlands! :spoton:

Uhm, he came to Ajax at his seventh, he is now eleven years old. :D Great talent he is, amazing.
-
A future Ajax starter and Dutch international, perhaps? ;)
-
Bojan Krkic, the 16-year old supertalent of FC Barcelona, is linked with Ajax. Krkic, who made his debute voor Barca last week against Al Ahly (4-0, Bojan scored once) will probaly go to Ajax on loan for one season.
Bojan arrived at Barca in 1999. Sice than he already scored 899 goals for Barca's youthteams.

How's old Edgar doing over there?

How's old Edgar doing over there?
Edgar is doing great. The Eredivisie is a competition that suits Edgar, just like the Italian Serie A... With Edje Davids in our team the balance on the midfield is back. Gabri - Davids - Sneijder on the midfield is doing great! Thanks for the cheap transaction :D
-
Glad he's doing well.
Do you think Sneijder would come to Spurs?
-

Do you think Sneijder would come to Spurs?
Hahaha, definitely no chance at all.. He's one of our best players, so....... He wants to got to the Primera Division. As far as known Manchester United, AC Milan and FC Barcelona are wanting him. Think he will go to Barca. His transferfee is neraby the 18 million.
-
Well considering they head into the final week of the season with PSV, Ajax and AZ level at the top makes it very interesting

Indeed. I'm so excited for tomorrow...... If we will win.... :D
-
Well looks like AZ completely bottled it.
Ajax and PSV both won but PSV won the league by 1 goal.
They should have considered head to heads instead
-
:confused2: Unbelievable......
-
Yeah, at least we've got the KNVB Beker and we might win the play-offs.
