West Ham are the target of £100m takeover offer, which could lead to a bidding war for the Upton Park club.

Chelsea and Manchester City have both made offers to 18-year-old Spanish midfielder Sergio Canales, who is out of contract and free to leave current club Racing Santander this summer.

Fulham boss Roy Hodgson has made a move to sign out-of-favour Stoke striker James Beattie.

you know, I really got the gossip on news now every day, but sometimes I feel I'm better off not reading any of it. I remember that as a young journalist working on local paper (I later became a foreign correspondent) I was told to write the horoscope column. Needless to say, I knew nothing about it then, and I know nothing about it now. I just made it all up. The more things change, the more they stay the same!
