Alfie Devine signs his first professional contract
Yes, the club have confirmed that Alfie Devine has signed his first professional contract with the club, which will run until 2024.
The former Liverpool academy reject went on to play for Wigan Athletic. However, disaster struck, and the club went into administration in June 2020. He then went to Spurs on July 2020 for a fee of £500,000 to help put Wigan’s financial issues (according to the Evening Standard).
Alfie secured a place in our history books when he came off the subs bench in the FA Cup 3rd round against non-league Marine and became the youngest ever player and goalscorer in a competitive game.
As soon as Alfie reached his 17th birthday, he signed his first professional contract for the club.
Thoughts
Alfie is a very talented player and will make an excellent addition to the Spurs squad if he continues progressing. However, the road won’t be an easy one for him as he must develop and progress up the Spurs ladder if he wants to achieve his ambition of playing in the senior squad. But we wish him well.
Be safe, Glenn
