Son has signed a contract until 2025
Yes, Son has put his signature on a contract that will see him staying at our Club until 2025.
29-year-old Son previously was contracted until June 2023. Extending this contract means he has given the Club a substantial boost by pledging his long-term future.
Son joined us from Bundesliga outfit Bayer Leverkusen in August 2015 for £22million and has since made 280 appearances in all competitions. He has scored a remarkable 107 goals and delivering 64 assists.
Delighted
After extending his, contract Son has said he is ”delighted” after committing his future with us.
Last season Son had his most productive campaign in front of goal for us.
Son told the Spurs Webpage: “It was already a big honour to play here for six years, the Club have shown me massive, massive respect and obviously I’m very happy to be here. It’s like home, especially with the fans, the players, the staff. There was no decision. It was easy. I’m so happy to be here and will be so glad to see the fans again soon.”
Thoughts
Throughout Tottenham, he is loved, but not only here, in his home country as well, where he has a unique following, and every time he turns out in our colours, he is watched on South Korean TV by millions.
Some credit for his signing must go to Nuno, our head coach, as it was reported that Son has total confidence in him. Hopefully, his signing will boost our confidence in getting silverware and will be a significant part of Nuno’s rebuild.
Son’s signing will also boost Nuno Espirito Santo and Fabio Paratici in trying to secure a return to the Champions League for us.
Stay safe, Glenn
