The battle of North London for a player
Us and the Gooners could go head-to-head for the signature of a midfield player. Yes, Houssem Aouar of Lyon is wanted by both clubs (information from Le10Sport).
Those pretenders who have been cohabitating with us in North London have tendered an offer of around £17.11m to the French club. However, this is well below their asking price, and now we are ready to pounce. But we are not the only ones interested, Paris Saint-Germain and Atletico Madrid are also after him. However, we are also keen, so much so that we are prepared to meet the French club’s valuation for the player (who is 23) and has made 33 appearances in all competitions last season, scoring eight goals and providing four assists (information from transfermarkt).
If we get him, he wouldn’t have been the first from that club, as we also purchased Tanguy Ndombele from them, having paid a club-record fee of £53.8m for the player, which could rise to £62.8m based on incentives.
My thoughts
I have seen the young player play before, and he has an uncanny knack for unlocking defences with superb passes. So I can understand why we are interested in him. He reminds me of Christian Eriksen. With young Aouar in the team, he would be an excellent assist for our striking pair.
