We are a laughing stock?

Ex-players are coming out of the woodwork to mock our club. One example is former City player Rodney Marsh who has mocked our managerial search on social media, along with many Tottenham fans. We are yet to appoint a new manager, even though we parted with Mourinho two months ago.
Marsh responded to a Tweet from The Daily Mail, which claimed that Paulo Fonseca was originally Tottenham’s sixth choice to take over as head coach. Fonseca moved up the shortlist following the involvement of Fabio Paratici, who has been heading up the recruitment process since he joined the club.
Since Mourinho was sacked, the whole episode has become a joke with ‘failed moves‘ for many applicants, including Julian Nagelsmann, Brendan Rodgers, Erik ten Hag, Mauricio Pochettino and Antonio Conte.
Marsh, who is now an old man at the age of 76, responded to the Tweet by claiming that “six time’s a charm” about our possible new manager. This refers to where Fonseca was ranked at the start of the process.
The website Athletic reported yesterday that Fonseca will soon be confirmed as the club’s new manager. It is believed that he is at the stage where he has had advanced talks and an announcement could be made as early as the beginning of next week.
In my opinion…
I am not surprised that we’ve become or are a laughing stock. After 20 years in charge under Levy’s tuition, we’ve only managed one trophy, and even though we’ve had several years in the top four, over the last couple of years, we have slid down the table to a humiliating 7th position in the Premier League and just managed to get into Europe because UEFA created a failures Europa League for this up and coming season for clubs that struggle to get into Europe.
And even with this new manager taking over, I can’t see any change any day soon. If we make the Europa League by the end of season 2021/22, I will be astonished. As the saying goes, you get what you pay for, and Levy will undoubtedly get what he is paying for, another – probably – mediocre season. I hope I am wrong, but Levy has form.
