Mourinho/ Fonseca; You sack a manager for a reason?
Mourinho was sacked nearly two months ago. Since then, this whole episode has become a bit of a joke with ‘failed moves ‘for many hopefuls, including Julian Nagelsmann, Brendan Rodgers, Erik ten Hag, Mauricio Pochettino and Antonio Conte. But that is ok, providing that long search was for the right person, which will hopefully lead us to glory, trophies, and good football. After all, I am sure that Levy has learnt lessons from his past twenty years of failure (and just one trophy)?
Mourinho, even Pochettino, was sacked by Levy for a season, and that reason was that we slid down the league table (fair enough!). And when you do replace that sacked offending manager, you try to find somebody a lot better than the manager you have sacked, not the same as the person you have sacked (logically).
I was sent the records of both Fonseca and Mourinho (both were sacked) for their teams’ failures (side-by-side). But their form, as you will see below, for both clubs, are identical.
Paulo Fonseca was sacked because his team finished 7th and was replaced by Jose Mourinho. Mourinho was sacked because his team finished 7th and will be replaced by Fonseca. What!? Am I missing something here? One failure – according to Levy – replaces another with identical records. That can’t be right. Unless Levy and his counterpart at Roma have lost the plot.
In a previous article by Don Scully, he wrote about us becoming a “laughing stock”, and on this current news (about both managers having the same record), we won’t just become a laughing stock but a total idiotic team that doesn’t know where he (Levy) is going or what he is doing.
I wonder if Daniel Levy is a fan of Alice in Wonderland? “Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?” “That depends a good deal on where you want to get to.” “I don’t much care where” “Then it doesn’t matter which way you go.” A bit like Levy and what direction he wants the team to go.
Levy also reminds me of that Don McLean song (American Pie):
Drove my Chevy to the Levy but the Levy was dry
And them good old boys were drinkin’ whiskey ‘n rye
Singin’, “This’ll be the day that I die”
“This’ll be the day that I die”
And will this be the day we die?
Or maybe you all see it differently; the goings-on are just here to try our patience and loyalty.
All the best, Glenn
