Harry’s off; God bless him! But the finger should be pointed at Levy

Sky Sports yesterday reported that Harry Kane has told the club that he wants to leave this summer, and in the process created a media storm.

Another season under Levy’s Chairmanship and no trophies to show the fans and the wider public. Again we shall miss out on the Champions League qualification for the second season in a row. Another season in the second fiddle Europa League failures section.

Back in  November, we were at the top of the League table, and from there a sudden decline and then Mourinho was sacked. The wrong guy got the sack, but then again, I suppose Levy won’t sack himself, so Mourinho had to go, just as Pochettino had to go because of the chairman’s failures.

According to all the news media outlets, Harry Kane has again reiterated his desire to leave the club. And he wants to stay in England, so the favourites are the two Manchester Clubs and Russia; who have all been in touch with Kane’s representatives to express their interest in securing Kane’s signature.

Obviously, the club doesn’t want to sell him, but if they do, they will screw every last penny out of the club that wants to buy him. Then I have no doubt that that money won’t be invested back into the team but will pay off the clubs debts. Levy will look towards their academy for cheap meat or find either a has-been or somebody from the lower leagues.

My thoughts

I am surprised that he has lasted this long at the club. He never was going to win a significant Trophy with us. The best he could have hoped for was one of the minor trophies (but even that eluded him). At least with clubs like City, United and Chelski, he has a better chance of taking home a winners medal (and many).

Levy was never going to compete at the same level as the other top five clubs do (it would have cost him too much in outlay). He’s a businessman who hopes to do things on the cheap and expect huge rewards out of so little.

With all the talk of Parker, Mason and such (basically inexperienced kids) becoming our manager (to save Levy money), he never seriously wished to Challenge the big 5. His highest ambition is to get us into the top four and collect all the money it offers.

And Kane won’t be the last to go either, any player that is worth his salt and ambitious for trophies and medals will also be off… those that stay will only send out a signal that they are not ambitious enough. Next up and away will be Sonny!

All the best, Glenn

It is finally here, a new super book about the greats, Glories and all you want to know about the Tottenham great players (we are not worthy!) who have graced White Hart Lane and beyond. Sixty years ago this month, the Greatest Football club in the world won the double with probably the most outstanding team on this planet.

Has your eye’s seen the Glory? If yes (or even no) click HERE and follow the link, then they/ you will, and for those that are longer in the tooth (in other words, old like me)…. be prepared to be dazzled all over again!
