Thank you Fulham, or not.
With Fulham being relegated, we could sneak in for Joachim Andersen, who is rated £25m, and he would be a good purchase. However, I just hope that with Fulham being relegated, we don’t go in for Parker. Parker hasn’t done his reputation any good by taking Fulham down to the next level. Granted, he took them up, but just as quick, he took them down again. Not good credentials for managing one of the six richest clubs in England. But then again, Levy will only look at who can save him money and get the best out of so little. Anyway, this article is about taking a player from relegated Fulham, not their manager.
Along with the ex-England international, several stars could be set to leave Craven Cottage in a summer of upheaval at the club. Joachim Andersen could be one of them. He enjoyed an impressive first season in the Premier League. The 24-year-old signed for Fulham on a season-long loan deal last summer and has helped to rebuild his career after an unsatisfactory campaign with Lyon. The European club paid Sampdoria £25million for the player, but after struggling to make an impression under Rudi Garcia, he was told he can go.
However, there is upheaval at the Lyon club with Garcia set to leave at the end of the season, which could mean he could be back at his parent club, which would mean that Tottenham might not get their man.
Even though Lyon chief Juninho has opened the door for his return after Euro 2021, Joachim has conceded, there is a good chance he might stay in England.
So, that is one to look out for… that is Joachim Andersen and not (pray be) Scott Parker; we’ve had enough immature ex-players taking over the club (Mason) and achieving nothing, so why would we want Parker? Surely Levy isn’t going to make another mistake in appointing the wrong person to do a man’s job? But, yes, to their centre-back.
All the best, Glenn
It is finally here, a new super book about the greats, Glories and all you want to know about the Tottenham great players (we are not worthy!) who have graced White Hart Lane and beyond. Sixty years ago this month, the Greatest Football club in the world won the double with probably the most outstanding team on this planet.
Has your eye’s seen the Glory? If yes (or even no) click HERE and follow the link, then they/ you will, and for those that are longer in the tooth (in other words, old like me)…. be prepared to be dazzled all over again!
