Football on Christmas day (Spurs history); Merry Christmas to all Spurs supporters
Remember those days before Daniel Levy and Big business took over?
Hi all, did you know that on Christmas day, yonks ago, football was played on that day? Well, it was. Sadly – or maybe good – that tradition ended in 1958. In my blog, I take you back to the beginning (1894), and then to its completion 64 years later. If you are interested in Spurs history and would like something to cheer you up, then click on the link below, enter and travel through the Spurs Christmas era. Merry Christmas & Happy New Year to you all. UP the SPURS!!! Thank you.
Yes, I’ve written a 4 page article on the matches we’ve had on Christmas day. Mince pies, spirits, Turkey dinners, mistletoe, Christmas pudding were all put to one side for more important things (if you were a football fan) and that was going to see your favourite football team.
