I can confirm that our first two games of the season are scheduled for live TV.
During our two friendly games, we have shown players that are raring to start the season, which will kick off in two weeks.
Mourinho will be hoping that all of his first-team stars return unmarked from the international break, which is planned just before the start of the season.
We start the campaign against Everton, who are our first visitors at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday, September 13. We have an excellent record against them over recent years, and we will be eager that it continues.
After the Everton game, we then have an away fixture the following weekend as we travel to St Mary’s to take on Southampton. This will be on September 20.
The game against Everton will be live on Sky Sports, and BT Sport will show the Saints game.
My thoughts
The first two games look an excellent choice for us. The United’s of the Premier League are a bit further along and will give us some extra warm-up before meeting them (I don’t think that Everton & Southampton will appreciate that description, but hey, ho!). However, based on the form that we showed towards the end of last season as well as the alertness we have demonstrated in our pre-season matches so far, I expect the team to do well. I also hope we get maximum points from both Everton & Southampton.
That is the first two matches and my predictions. I can’t wait for the start, however, sadly, we won’t be able to tread the stadium’s floors for the first month, beyond that a limited number only. Whatever, it is out of the club’s hands.
