Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed three pre-season fixtures ahead of the new campaign, which will also be televised.
Tottenham Hotspur have said that they will be playing three pre-season friendlies against clubs from the EFL ahead of the 2020/21 campaign.
Training for the players will start this Monday. This is after a short players holiday. In the first month, we have a packed timetable; premier league games between three Europa League qualifiers and on top of that there is also the International break to contend with.
The club have said that they will prepare for the season with friendly games against League One side Ipswich Town, plus Reading and Birmingham All three games will be held in an empty Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The game against Ipswich is scheduled for 22 August. As for Reading and Birmingham, they will be played on successive days the following weekend (28 and 29 August).
Even though we will be disappointed that we can’t be there in person, because of the virus, the club have confirmed that the matches will be streamed live on the official website.
My thoughts on the matter
With all the friendly matches coming one after the other and then quickly into the league, it will hopefully put the players in an excellent physical condition. I am sure the televised friendly matches will be popular, as we can watch our new signings in action. Hopefully, Hojbjerg will be the first of many signings. With old players past their sell-by date moving out.
Putting the virus to one side, with any luck exciting and prosperous times are ahead for us.
