Barclays Premier League – Sunday 16th – KO 16.10 – Ground: White Hart Lane

Ten-man Manchester United held on to returned to the top of the Premier League on goal difference with a goalless draw at White Hart lane. Rafael van der Vaart saw an early free-kick gratefully clutched by United goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar, then Peter Crouch shot wide of the post from close-range after nine minutes, having done well to get on the end of Alan Hutton’s low cross.

At the other end, Wayne Rooney’s right-foot drive was saved on the scramble by Tottenham goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes, before van der Vaart headed Gareth Bale’s cross into the side netting two minutes before the break.

United almost took the lead after 50 minutes when Michael Carrick flicked a Giggs’ corner towards goal but just wide of the post.

Gomes then produced good saves to deny Rooney and Rafael, but the Brazilian was dismissed on 74 minutes by referee Mike Dean for a second yellow card after tripping Benoit Assou Ekotto.

Van der Vaart almost snatched the three points for Tottenham in the 81st minute, when he curled an effort from the edge of the area just over the crossbar, after Javier Hernandez’s trapped pass sold 37-year-old Giggs, making his 600th top-flight appearance, outrageously short.

  1. This highlighted why Utd are unbeaten there energy levels are very high along with there tackles there swearing there gaunt looking faces tells me what i already knew Tempo top up Stoke is alive in the North West we have only beaten Stoke just and i no 100 percent Football is in denial about sudden deaths weight loss dirty tackles Man Utd made twenty fouls swore at the ref Rooney has got terets caused by this energy ,.There are players who played for us and you can see the Killer energy is being used by there gaunt faces i expected it what surprised me we drew the other thing surprised me was Bale he played for both teams and took is spurs shirt of and draped a Utd shirt over is shoulder something i never expected him to do. We are going for Carroll he also draped a shirt over his shoulder i hope its Paranoia but somehow i doubt it the way he played todayand at Old Trafford.

  2. good display by spurs considering we played the whole match with ten men. what was harry playin at keepin that useless cunt crouch on for the whole match.he contributed absolutely fuck all.if he had started with pav or defoe we would have won that match

    1. I and many other Spurs supporters share your view…Don’t know why Harry keeps playing him knowing his record of goals scored in the premier….They ain’t ever going to get rid of him that easily, when other team managers see how he plays and the cock-ups he makes who the hell wants to buy sh#@te like that?

  3. Lads you are forgetting they never scored either Yes Crouch should have scored but Crouch plays better with Defoe Rafa had a terrible game and the funny thing is when Everton beat us I expected Bale and Rafa to play rubbish because they have both bean linked to Utd and there performances show this at old Trafford they both played bad then and Rafa went of at half time. Remember we have heard nothing about his new deal and is form has slumped along with the silence of his new deal and the rumours of utds interest in both of these finish fifth then these too players will be off . This Bales crossing today and his decision making was an indication having Beckham around is having the wrong affect and he could be tapping our players for is master Ferguson the boot thrower the Utd shirt along with his performance has soured my adulation for the great way he played in Europe and early on its funny Neville ex Utd was the first player to nullify him and my argument is this if you want to engineer a move then just dont Help us get in the top four like Berbatov did its funny since the window has opened we have lost one and drew one. I cant believe Harry who only played one sub at Home against ten men and he replaced Defoe with a midfielder not a defender we did have the biggest under used squad in the World now its shrinking into the most loaned squad in the World we are helping to boost our rivals priceless.
