Tottenham | v | Charlton |
FA Cup 3rd round – 9th Jan 2011 – KO 13:30 – Ground: White Hart Lane
Harry Redknapp will ring the changes for Sunday’s FA Cup third round tie with Charlton Athletic.
Gareth Bale is among those likely to be rested for the London derby with the League One side. Younes Kaboul, meanwhile, is banned after his recent sending-off against Newcastle United, while goalkeeper Carlo Cudicini (shoulder) is still injured.
Tom Huddlestone (ankle), Ledley King (groin), Jamie O’Hara (back) and Jonathan Woodgate (groin) are also out, with Redknapp likely to hand starts to the likes of Vedran Corluka, Sebastien Bassong, Niko Kranjcar, Sandro, Wilson Palacios and Stipe Pletikosa. Jermain Defoe could also start after missing the last three games with a ban.
Robbie Keane and David Bentley were both in the Spurs squad named on Friday, but both have been strongly linked with Birmingham City and probably will not feature to prevent their being cup-tied.
Charlton’s new owners sacked manager Phil Parkinson this week, with Keith Peacock taking temporary charge at White Hart Lane.
He must do without striker Paul Benson, who is suspended after losing an appeal against his recent red card against Colchester United.
Defender Matt Fry is available though after extending his loan deal from West Ham United.
