Tottenham Pavlyuchenko 16′ | 1-1 | Chelsea 70′ D. Drogba |
Barclay’s Premier League – Sun 12th Dec – KO 16:00 GMT – Ground: White Hart Lane
Spurs went ahead on 15 minutes when Jermain Defoe played in Roman Pavlyuchenko and, following a first touch that took him away from John Terry, the Russian striker slotted the ball into the bottom corner with a quick left-foot finish.
Coach Carlo Ancelotti sent on Didier Drogba in an attempt to get his floundering side back in the game, and he obliged with powerful drive that Heurelho Gomes got behind but could not prevent from bouncing into the net.
Drogba was then gifted the chance to win it a couple of minutes into added time when Gomes clattered into Ramires, but the Ivorian’s spot-kick was pushed away by the Spurs goalkeeper.
