Peter Crouch thinks Harry Redknapp should be handed the chance to manage England when Fabio Capello steps down as manager of the national side.
Crouch admits he does not want Redknapp to leave White Hart Lane, but the well travelled striker feels if he does leave Spurs he would be a great manager of the national side.
Crouch thinks Redknapp has all the right qualities to be a successful England manager after working with him at Spurs and Portsmouth.
“He’s similar to Rafa Benitez in the way he’ll treat you, whereas Harry will speak to you and put an arm round you,” said Crouch
“Harry will talk to you whether you’ve had an awful game or a good game, whereas maybe Capello is a bit more aloof.
“Every country has a different mentality. With Harry he knows how to get the best out of me.
“He’ll talk to me and be honest with me whether I’ve had a good or a bad game. Harry’s way suits me.”
Redknapp has been backed by a number of pundits and players since England’s disastrous World Cup campaign but Capello is set to lead the national side in European Championships in 2012.
