Harry rules out Adebayor move

Redknapp insists he is not interested in unsettled Manchester City forward Emmanuel Adebayor.

Adebayor is keen to leave Eastlands having slipped down the pecking order this season, and Spurs have repeatedly been linked with a move for the former Arsenal man. But Redknapp told TalkSport:

“Absolute nonsense. I’ve never made any enquiries for Adebayor whatsoever.

“I keep seeing in the papers that we’re after him. I’ve never ever asked about him or enquired about him.”

Reports over the weekend suggested Manchester City could use Adebayor as part of a deal to land Spurs star Gareth Bale, but Redknapp has no plans on parting with the Welshman. He added:

“We don’t want to sell Gareth Bale.

“At the end of the day it won’t be my decision, it’ll be above my head but it would take an absolute fortune one day to buy him.

“For me, at this particular time, he’s got to be the Footballer of the Year in this country. I can’t think of anyone who’s done as well as him.

“He’s not a player that we would really want to sell. You’ve got to hang onto your best players. If Tottenham want to be a club that’s always looking to get in Champions League football you can’t sell those players.”

  1. What we need 2 do is dump Keno and Crouch, give Pav and Defoe 3 to 6 games together and then see what happens, stop all this talk about a MC and Arsehole reject. Then we need to replace BAE and Hutton (both good, but not good enough) Also if Redknap goes I for one wont be too unhappy as I still think he did it by a wing and a prayer last season and that won’t happen this year. I never liked him from day one and I believe that most managers would have raised us up to 4th as we had the skill and the rest of the ‘big guns’ last year never really got going (a bit like this year, no clear wiinner in sight). Redknap just has not got the ‘killer instinct’ like i.e. ‘old rednose’ at MU and I would like to see somebody like Owen Cole at the Lane. COYS and I am Spurs 4 Life

    1. Don’t insult me u wally, just saying it as it is… Harry will always be a nearly man. U tell me what he has done as a manager? Not a lot … oh sorry the FA Cup with portsmouth … and got us into CL, but we would have got there anyhow … no Owen is the way forward, there is a man who has passion and desire not a wheeler dealer who in a few months will be in court/jail.
