King to see specialist

Ledley King will visit a specialist on Monday to see if he needs an operation on his troublesome groin injury.

The injury-plagued defender will travel to Denmark to see if the problem, which is thought to have been caused by his inability to train properly due to his knee injury, requires surgery.

Manager Harry Redknapp said: “He’s off to see a specialist in Copenhagen to get a decision on what needs doing next, as to whether he feels he can carry on strengthening and trying to get through without having surgery or whether he needs surgery.

“The knee can’t improve, there’s nothing you can do with the knee. That’s how it’s going to be for the rest of his career.”

King has played just seven times this season and has not featured in the first team for almost six weeks.

  1. There is no better centre half in the country than Leders. His reading of the game, speed and timing of headers and tackles are second to none. His distribution from the back was so good England even played him as a central holding players in midfield. Daws and King are a fantastic combination and have proved that time and again since Martin Jol.

In short, The KING of White Hart Lane is phenominal!!!!

This said we must now face cold hard facts. King is struggling with his knee
and groin. He has managed very few games this season and has not played for weeks. The mighty Tottenham in the last two matches have kept two clean sheets. This is undoubtedly due to Daws being back. Did you see his goal line clearance after Gomes full length save? However we must have a regular partner for our future club captain. It hurts me to say but King is nolonger that man!

  2. It hurts to say so, but time has to be called on both King and Woodgate. Past contributions are no justification for starry-eyed hopes of a return to past form. Ledley’s few games this season have all been on borrowed time, and Woody is part of history not the future. Other players have come in and done adequately to well. We are not missing these two.

  3. It was an absolute idiocy to send him to South Africa, he wanted to go out all guns blazing but it just finished him off instead.
