Have Spurs found an adequate replacement for Berbatov?
With all the talk being about us losing either Dimitar Berbatov or Robbie Keane, it has left many worrying where this will leave us if both eventually decide to go.
Alot of fans where resigned to the fact of losing Berbatov at the end of the season, but alot are also very disappointed to find out Robbie Keane wanted to leave the club. On the brighter side and beneath all of this ongoing saga, there are stories surfacing today that Tottneham are in talk with Zenit St Petersburg with a possible deal for Andrei Arshavin.
Zenit official Konstantin Sarsaniya has now revealed that Tottenham have been in contact though, with Juande Ramos looking to prepare for the possible departures of Robbie Keane and Dimitar Berbatov.
“With Tottenham we have contacts,” Sarsaniya told the Russian press.
“This English club is really interested in acquiring Andrei but, as I understand, €27 million (Ł21.5 million) is too high a price for them.
“For Spurs it is unacceptable. Tottenham are ready to pay in the region of €20 million (Ł15.9 million) for Arshavin.” (Setanta Sports)
Arshavin impressed us all throughout Euro 2008, with many teams reported to be after the Russian.
So the question is, do you think Arshavin would be an adequate replacement for either Dimitar Berbatov or Robbie Keane or maybe you have other suggestions?
