CHELSEA are lining up an £8million bid for Tottenham ace Pascal Chimbonda

Sport of the World can reveal the France international is Jose Mourinho's choice to be theBlues'right-backnextterm.
Chelsea have already contacted the player's representatives and it is understood a bid will be made in the next few days.
Chimbonda, 28, joined Spurs for £4.5m from Wigan after a prolonged saga last summer.

The only snag in the Chelsea deal could be the doubts over Mourinho's future.
Technical director Frank Arnesen is also pursuing Valencia's Miguel — as we exclusively revealed — but boss Mourinho prefers Chimbonda.

And Spurs are already trying to boost their defence. This week it was revealed they are close to capturing Younes Kaboul from Auxerre for £8m — just as we told you on April 15.

However it is from the NOTW and thereds no quotes. Would not be happ f we sold him. May make it a bit easier id we could sign richards as a replacemet

I would be very disappointed by this.  We are trying to build a team, remember.  I cannot see it happen.  If it did, we would have to replace with someone pretty expensive, probably with no proven experience in the Premiership.  As for Johnson, isn't he now at Portsmouth (and not getting in every week).  Cannot believe that this will happen, in my opinion.

Bloody Chelsea, every week there are rumours of them wanting our players. There are OTHER teams you know!  I would be very disappointed if Chimbonda was sold, especially to one of our rivals. We need to 'build' for the future & that isn't gonna happen if we only keep players for one season - too much chopping & changing doesn't work.

8m is a good price but I can't see Jol selling one of our better signings especially a defender which we really need at the mo. Hopefully just another meaningless rumour.

I do not want him to either, we need to building a solid defence, not changing it season after season

Doesn`t matter how good the price if it comes at the cost of success. Its no good having money in the bank and being mid table. 18 odd mill for Carrick hasn`t seemed such a good deal this season has it?
Anyway, as MJ said the other day, Spurs are not a selling club. Don`t see this happening personally.

8m is a fair price but we don't need to sell players to our London rivals. Personally I don't want him to leave why let a player go who we worked so hard on signing last summer.

Im very unhappy with this rumour, remember how he jumped ship from wigan.
If we are to have a good new season we need to keep our best players especially in defence.
