Defoe To Chelski.

Chelsea are still looking to raid White Hart Lane for the services of a goal scorer only now it appears their target is not Dimitar Berbatov as has been widely reported.

Reports this morning claim that the Stamford Bridge club are keen to take Spurs striker Jermain Defoe to the club.

The Times newspaper says that Defoe is being lined up by Jose Mourinho as a potential replacement for Andriy Shevchenko who looks certain to leave the Blues this summer.

Chelsea could face competition for Defoe though with Manchester United also reportedly interested in acquiring his services.

I saw this aswell, i hope it doesn't happen cuz i think he is a quality player. I think Mido will go at the end of the season and i think we'll get Darren Bent

If Defoe does go I'd rather he went to United but I don't want him to go at all! More importantly We need to get rid of Mido! I think Bent would be an excellent replacement, I can see him settling in well at Spurs.

Are Chelsea just unsettling a player here?

Sadly I could see it happen if they were serious, a bigger (in recent terms) club, ooodles of money and better chance to win silver. Defoe would bite their hands off.
But would he get regular pitch time? doubtful, would he stay happy, who knows?

If he does go to Chelsea I can see him being on the bench a lot, a bit like Wright Phillips. So he might as well stay at Spurs!

Good, in my opinion.  If we get £10million, I will be laughing all the way to the Leeds.  But will Chelsea really buy a player who can't even get into our team?  Seems unlikely......

10 million is a good price. I think it's unlikely he will go to Chelski.

I don't think we should sell him.  He's fantastic back up and if there's any chance of him wanting to stay we should definitedly keep him.
