Barton to be let go
« on: August 01, 2011, 06:14:13 PM »
The Daily Mail posted this news today. I actually think he could do a good job for us. It seems Harry doesn't want Parker after all. Barton is a complex person, maybe even crazy but he seems honest and loyal and it seems that's exactly what we need... And should he really be available on a free.... well... a no brainer as Harry would say.

What do you think?

At least he will keep us out of contention for the Fair Play League. We wont have to worry about playing in July like Fulham. Might be a decent signing. I worry about him upsetting moral as he seems to wear his heart on his sleeve which might not be a good thing for dressing room harmony.

Don't want that scummy thug anywhere near this football club.

Yea and we do without a player who would go around kicking and beating the s**t out of our younger players on the training ground.

The guy is a scum bag and should be in prison.

It was years ago, I haven't noticed Barton kicking heads in at Newcastle. This thing reminds me how Gareth Keown despised Woodgate because of his court case ten years ago.

And regarding young players - it seems they actually could use some hard leadership or they'll all end up like boozer Gio.

I presume you forgot the fact he punched a player on the pitch?

I did. Players have done worse, to be honest.

They have but not many have the history he does. If he didn't have the background he does then he would be a great signing.

I think Levy baulked at signing Craig Bellamy because of his temperament/reputation, I can't imagine he would entertain Barton for the same reasons.

Shame IMHO he could do a job for us.

Talking of on pitch violence surely nothing will surpass our former player Ben Thatcher laying out another former player Pedro Mendes with that solid elbow smash.

But seriously we need some players in our squad that have a set of balls, will battle for every second and really want to win!
