FABIANO CHANGES HIS TUNE...

Brazil striker Luis Fabiano appears to have warmed to the idea of making a move to Tottenham. The 29-year-old, a reported target of Spurs boss Harry Redknapp, has been linked with several clubs following his success with Sevilla and his impressive display at the World Cup. However, after failing to attract the interest of preferred suitors Manchester United or AC Milan, Fabiano has changed his assessment of the Londoners. He told The Sun: "I must admit it's only in the last few weeks I have understood just how big Spurs' ambition is."

SUAREZ: "TOTTENHAM HOLD APPEAL AS WELL"

Luis Suarez has indicated that he could be interested in joining Tottenham, this summer "Manchester United are a great side and, along with Real Madrid are the most prestigious club in the world, you know if you join Manchester United and are there for any length of time you will win things. Tottenham hold appeal as well though, they are a team with great ambition and have done well to reach the Champions League, I like team that have shown ambition through the money they spend. If there are multiple offers form the Premier League I will take time to decide - but at the moment they are the two clubs that stand out for me."

CITY WANT TO KEEP RICHARDS

Manchester City are keen to keep hold of Micah Richards despite earlier reports he could move to either Tottenham or Liverpool. According to The Sun, City are not prepared to sell the 22-year-old defender and have advised Spurs and Liverpool to look elsewhere. Richards had a difficult season under Roberto Mancini and struggled to make the starting XI, yet the Italian Manager still considers him an integral part of the team.

TAIWO WANTS OUT

Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp is reported in the French press to be stepping up his pursuit of Marseille’s powerful left-back Taye Taiwo. The marauding left-back was one of the few impressive performers for Nigeria at the World Cup finals in South Africa but the French club are after £8.5m for the him which Spurs are not willing to pay. Atletico Madrid are also in the hunt but they too have baulked at the fee. Whether the French champions will drop the price is debatable but Redknapp is looking to strengthen his defence with doubts remaining over Benoit Assou-Ekotto’s ability at the highest level.

CROAT SIGNING SOON?

Harry Redknapp has admitted that Tottenham Hotspur are on the verge of signing Croatian goalkeeper Stipe Pletikosa. The Tottenham Hotspur manager conceded he is looking to bolster his squad ahead of the new season, which now includes a Champions League campaign. Redknapp revealed this summer’s transfer market was tough, however a potential deal could be in place for the 31-year-old Spartak Moscow stopper. “We might be taking another Croatian, goalkeeper Stipe Pletikosa, we have every chance. We might be getting him and that’s good,” Redknapp told Croatian Soccer Report.
